Dod V4.0/1.0 Release May 1

<div class="IPBDescription">Oh so sexy</div> I know this doesn’t pertain to NS in any form but I thought I would bring it up anyway. The downloadable version of DoD 4.0/1.0 is available Thursday, May 1 (tomorrow). If any of you guys are interested in hosting it, read this:

I have seen screen shots of DoD retail is this the mod version patch for retail so it will include the new british side and the german rocket laucnher, right? huh huh. Since im expecting DoD retail to come with extras and since im on the lowely 56k i think il buy DoD retail as it will probebly be released the day my DL stops <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

and if your reading this i advice you to get in contact with Blueyonder there always happy to help also try UK2 Online they provide FREE anonamoues dialup connection any time any where every one uses the same pass word and username they dont even know you excist. they also host the worlds largest amount of CS servers totaling to around 500 dedicated servers, they will be only happy to help as they have to much money (they own 50000 of the worlds newsgroups not the crap ones either) lol do i sound like a commercial or what <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

If someone gets this (or I do), I can set up a mirror at my website for NS users. Right now I have NS up there, but I could take it down to make the d/l a little less painful for my buds.

I have already contacted the DoD team with my interest in running a mirror from an ISP local to me where a friend is an engineer. Man this sucks I hate 56k. The patch is over 200 MB, 200mb!!! That will take me 3 days to download on good days. I guess I will have to wait for it on the PC Gamer cd or something, or if any of you nice broudbanders wants to burn me a cd *cough* *cough* *wink*.

Why dont people start distributing patches over BitTorrent? If it works for Linux distros it can work for games.

About 90% of Half-Life players have no idea what BitTorrent is or how to use it. And judging by how many people complain about Cheating Death I doubt many can spare the 30 seconds it takes to set it up.

Best way would simply be to ask people to download it, then put it in their Kazaa/Gnutella shared directory. Except there is a possibility of someone attaching a virus to it, with BitTorrent that possibility is nill.

I will try to grab a copy as early as possible and post the .torret file thingie on here <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

The only new thing is a new VGUI and music with that. Of course, this will be avalible to dl later on, so there are really no new things that come with the retail dod version. The only thing that you should really be considering buying it for would be to support the team (which i was thinking about doing). Both (er, all 3) sides get a rocket launcher, used for completing map objectives, and it's only on certain maps.

aww man the rocket luanchers only for objectives it should be a class one of there teams been playing a little Global Warfare(you dont respawn on the map in this mod, you get in a Blackhawk or APC and are flowen/driven onto the map the enermy team can do there main objective or destroy the transport and all remaning troops to win the round) well now i wish the zippo class had one becouse that would have been a class and not a objective based weapon. Yes i know it will be revolusionery and yes since im on a 56k i cant be ased to DL for 3 days ESPECIELY with rival species <a href='http://www.rivalspecies.com' target='_blank'>go here to see</a> is released on the exact same day. HMM lets get the choice here DL for 3 days somethign i will be buying anyway(becouse no matter how sarcastic this sounds i like DoD and respect the team who made it) or DL something completely new with high tech weapons light sabers and giant mechs to pilot jet packs rocket lauanchers star gates flame throwers sniper cannons "breath, pant, pant" now il leave you to deside

My roommate and I and a few people down the hall were working on a java bitTorrent client. We haven't for a little while since the hashing had different behavior under different versions of java.

I use to be REALLY good friends with Matt Boone back when we were wrestling site ****. Then he became a very cocky person and just started to ignore a lot of people. I use to play a lot of the earlyer betas.
