<div class="IPBDescription">Oh so sexy</div> I know this doesn’t pertain to NS in any form but I thought I would bring it up anyway. The downloadable version of DoD 4.0/1.0 is available Thursday, May 1 (tomorrow). If any of you guys are interested in hosting it, read this:
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->We're looking for people who can provide a GOOD mirror for DoD. Besides relying on all the "standard" sites like Fileplanet and Shacknews, we'll want to get community mirrors as usual. A good bunch in Europe would be nice, maybe South America, etc.
Requirements: sufficient storage for 2-300 MB of content, plus sufficient bandwidth to allow multiple downloads of installation at reasonable speeds.
WARNING! Don't do this if you have some cap on your traffic, or if you get charged for excessive traffic. We've had a few people get socked with BIG bills because they didn't realize this, or didn't realize just how much traffic they were going to get.
So if you are interested, please e-mail the DoD Webmaster with the subject line "Mirror," your contact information, the site where you will be hosting the file, and the type of bandwidth you will be providing.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Chocks away lads!
(Yes I am British, Yes I am making fun of my own Country)
Anyone interested in me doing that?
Best way would simply be to ask people to download it, then put it in their Kazaa/Gnutella shared directory. Except there is a possibility of someone attaching a virus to it, with BitTorrent that possibility is nill.
I will try to grab a copy as early as possible and post the .torret file thingie on here <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

The only new thing is a new VGUI and music with that. Of course, this will be avalible to dl later on, so there are really no new things that come with the retail dod version. The only thing that you should really be considering buying it for would be to support the team (which i was thinking about doing). Both (er, all 3) sides get a rocket launcher, used for completing map objectives, and it's only on certain maps.

My roommate and I and a few people down the hall were working on a java bitTorrent client. We haven't for a little while since the hashing had different behavior under different versions of java.
Time to give Jerry what for!
And now I have to provide installation support for CS retail AND DoD retail... gah.

Ha! DoD Team is a bunch of Sell-outs. Can't really blame them.
