I turn off everything usually. It tends to keep my BW clear for the 5 kb/s in/out that you need for HL.

Oh, and netsplits do suck.

Best netsplit I saw left 4 or 5 of us in the channel and voogru just said "I didn't do it."

Only for you guys residing on Quakenet. Us gamesnet people get them tons. It's really hard to organize a scrim when your the only one in your private channel...
