A Political Quote...

Since I don't understand...
I use to hang around at the Existence mod forums a lot, and for a brief time, there was one character by the name of "Fascist Control", who caught my attention. It was probably because he's part one of the few of a dying breed that still types real English, (yup, the smallest things impress me).

Anyways he had this quote that, due to my illiteracy in politics, made me look up the dictionary, cause I had no clue what the hell it said:

QUOTE

If you are a Jingoist you are being ****ed.
If you are a Chauvinist you're doing the ****ing.
If you're a Syndicalist you want to get the **** out.
If you are a Nihilist you just don't know what the **** is going on...

And according to dictionary.com:

Jingoist - an extreme bellicose (warlike manner) nationalist
Chauvinist - a person with a prejudiced belief in the superiority of his or her own kind 2: an extreme bellicose nationalist
Syndicalist - an advocate of anarchism
Nihilist - (Politics) A member of a secret association (esp. in Russia), which is devoted to the destruction of the present political, religious, and social institutions.

- reading these through, I am none the wiser in interpreting the quote. I can see that Chauvinist would basically be like a Nazi, so that part is easy to read... not 100% sure on everything else though. Anyone care to enlighten me?

You're using the wrong definition of 'Nihilist': Nihilism, derived from the Latin 'nihil', i.e.: nothing, describes a attitude that can be described as sophisticated apathy: A nihilist is convinced that no morallic, political or other values have a true and lasting meaning, and draw the conclusion not to be led by any of them.

Thus, the quote can be understood like this: The 'hawks' are being used by the 'fascists' (wrong terms, I know, but it's better understandeable), the far leftists try to get away from both, and the 'political goths' just don't get what's going on.
