why are people anoyed at hmg rushes.....i played so many matches where the sulks just slaugher the marines in the first min...the next round same thing again...this happened many times. well now the marines have found a tatic that will kill alines fast...deal with it! your just getting a taste of your own fast paced attacking

It is pretty easy to stop. Of course all depends on map. Skulk rush might work in hera, but in eclipse and nancy, those rushes are <b>very</b> easy to stop.
If there are 2-3 marines in base with pretty good aim, they will kill 5-6 uncarapaced skulk.
And if the rush fails then marines can go to hunt your gorge, capture res nodes, lock hives, tech up, etc...while other aliens are waiting for a respawn.
And after the armory is builded (it usually takes less than a minute), com drops couple mine packs and then someone places them around the buildings on the floor. I've downed 6 skulks by myself with the first set of ammo, none extra given, in the first couple minutes in spawn on caged <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

I'd like to consider myself okay, (I know peeps worse, I know peeps better imo) and I know in the initial skulk rush I can drop 3 without reloading.
Its usually basic 1 or 2 guards rest go hunt rts and guard them
then its tech up to lvl 3 stuff,motion trackers,ha hmg
usually in caged 1 or 2 guards are SUPPOSEDLY enough but mines play a vital role too.......
Mine the entrances to caged.....
at least for 10 mins skulks can't get in by then already lvl 2 weapons no big deal...
first part just all sit and wait while one builds rest cover from secure postions further away from the entrances
Carapace makes for a completely different game if you don't upgrade your weapons/armor. Then you have a reason to lose, if the other team is more organized than you are.
I would have said the same thing except that this weekend we encounter a weird situation on the redphive server where the server was half regulars and half players we didn't know. For multiple reasons it ended up the regulars all went Kharaa and the other guys went Marines. We played 5 rounds on eclipse. First 3 were over in a minute or two with skulk rushes. The fourth they placed mines and took Eclipse and Triad. Five skulks and two gorges took Eclipse and Triad back and then one of the gorges decided we were rushing their main to slow them down. The rush was very succesful and we actually were able to end it there (game was about 15 minutes old). Last match was an hour or so long.
It was weird though because for the most part the marine team was pretty good. I know on at least two of the fast rushes they had a bad comm, and on the fourth game where we did a rush 15 minutes in we got really lucky and caught them off guard. But that last game that lasted for an hour they beat the crap out of us and the teams were almost the exact same as the first four games. The marine team seemed to have players who could aim and knew how to play the game, but having an organized group of aliens that had played together before seemed to allow us to rush effectively.
Take a look-see at my sig. I've not had a skulk rush take out a Marine team on these two servers for as long as I can think back to playing on them. It's all about the people you play with, man...
