A Intresting Question.

Since the dev team has gone put alot of work into the backstory, and have explanations for everything, I have to ask:

How can oni climb ladders?

When you look at the structure of an onos:
<img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/images/lev5_pic2_8x6.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'> <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo-->
It remotely resembles an elephant, and how is it possible that it can climb ladders?

Or is the aswer just "Gameplay over realism.".

    Gameplay > Oni-sucking-due-to-being-unable-to-go-anywhere.

    I think that's it. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Gameplay over realism. Yes. You can't have ramps going everywhere.

    How about those spikey nipples on the Onos? I guess it's just to keep their bellies safe, since Oni don't bear young...which is a good thing, really. Can you imagine being a baby onos and having to suck on those things? Ouch!

    Maybe they could have the Onos model rotate while they climb ladders. It would make them look like they're actually climbing them. Just a thought.

    Originally, there were ship inspections to check whether handicapped crew and passengers always have ramp or elevator alternates to stairs. Inspections went lax when people realized this made Onos mobility easier. The Oni adapted before 1.0 got released.

    No, the above isn't the official answer. I just don't know what could be *shrug*

    actually, now that skulks look right climbing up walls, perhaps onos should be treated the same way when going up the ladder...oh and screw the story <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    They are uber strong things. Perhaps their will alone makes them go up the ladder?
    Perhaps the ladders run on linux?

    Do you see the 3 tentacles on top?
    Theese arms are strong enough to loft the onos up any ladder.
    Its just the animation thats missing.

    Haha, if you're going to talk about realism I can make one giant point.

    So you're saying that in an infinitely large universe there is zero probability that there are other forms of life out there, possibly some of which could tear us to shreds?

    Why the hell not? Being an Onos these days seems like a handicap. All public institutions should be Onos-accessible.

    I am launching a new campaign to make sure that Oni receive the respect and recognition that they deserve.

    As a side project, I have started a literacy program for baby TSA commandos. Note how there are signs everyehere saying: "Critical Error! All personnel evacuate!" or "Warning, non-human presence detected"

    P.S. It has come to my attention that this post is not obviously a joke, hence the warning that I added.

    Yes, all Onos should be allowed elevators to higher ground, they are simply to large to fit in vents, so all vents shall be increased to the size of a standard hall way. Further more, they will no longer be called handicapped, they are now, 'physically challenged'.
