Instant Hive Building?

<div class="IPBDescription">bug or fact?</div> Anyone ever seen this?
I was on a server with whatever plugin that is that allows you to see health of structures, and a group of us did a jetpack/HMG rush on a hive.
It was noname and we flew in there and cleaned up, the hive went down in seconds. So, we took out all the structures (there weren't many) and turned around and the hive was up again. BAH! So we took it out AGAIN. As soon as it was down it went back up so I jumped down into the pit (this was the nameless hive, btw) and in the pit there was a cloaked gorge building the hive. So I shot him dead.
Then I flew back up and emptied a full lv 3 clip of hmg shot into the hive, as I was reloading I noticed the hive was around 2500 hp. Whilst I was trying to figure out how the hive got so much health, a skulk popped in and xenocided me.
Imagine now, how long it takes a person to fly down into the pit, kill a gorge, reload, and fill the hive with 1 clip of hmg shot. That's not long enough for a hive to completely build. So why did it have so many hitpoints and why did the skulks have xenocide. I claim it's a bug, the other side says it's because they're leet.
Has anyone else experienced this phenomena? Does the hive continue it's "progress of construction" if you put it right back up after it is killed?

p.s. another thread on the forums reminded me of this so I suddenly became curious.

I have't actually heard those sounds in game before but then again there's a plethora of sounds in the NS directory that aren't used. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they're enabled by the server admin by turning some easter egg variable on.
i.e. "We Need Better Players!!!!!!"
