<div class="IPBDescription">And how everyone was the "BEST"</div> This is pretty pointless but I found it kind of funny nonetheless and decided I'd get some more input on the topic.
I was talking with some 'schoolmates' of mine today during english. We got onto the topic of really epic games like Bond. Even people who never played games played Bond, and EVERYONE was the best at it. Ask anyone who even remotely liked Bond and they'll probably say something like "Oh yeah Bond, I'm the best at Bond, ever" (in a very serious manner) or they might say "My friend ____ is the BEST at that game, I'm almost as good".
Who out there is the best at Bond? Or new at least 3 people who were the "BEST"?

Proximity mines under the flak jackets = hilarious
Back of doors = even better
I seem to also notice that alot of people played license to kill. Lots of people seemed to have a fav setting too, like lasers or something. Lasers man, lasers, mooooonraper. And a fav level, which was usually temple, but I kinda like the stack <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Hell yeah. I beat both the first and second, but I only have the second one. Shinobin was awesome in the first one! How I miss him!
I lost about 2 out of... I dunno how many, a lot.
W00000t go Oddjob!
No crap you won! You used this cheap Character!
(i hope you people get the joke..)

oddjob is the hardest to be, regular aim level is his head.
GE will never have a true successor, RARE simply doesnt have the rights to Bond anymore. However, Perfect Dark and TimeSplitter (1/2) can be viewed as the spiritual sequel. And yes, they are as fun as heck too <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Me and 3 of my friends used to play that game for like 6 hours at a time... We would have one hit kill slap only bloodbaths in the basement level... heh that was so scary. Then there was the egypt level + gameshark made it playable with 4 people... boy was that fun. Then came perfect dark, which wasn't as classic but was almost more fun than goldeneye. Good times.
Goldeneye > all
Get 4-8 friends together (all of legal drinking age <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> ) and a bottle (or more, depending on # of participants) of booze (40% or more alcohol, this is a game for the big boys)
- Get your first 4 players going in a game (try to keep the games shorter, proxies in the stack was popular)
- When the game is over, depending on the total # of players, you might have to kick some out (ie. if you have 6 players, 3rd and 4th place in the match give up their spots, 1st and 2nd keep playing)
- The winner of each match must take a shot (of the booze einstein). Sometimes if theres lots of people this rule can be modified to 1st and 2nd place take a shot.
The inclusion of alcohol into the Bond atmosphere creates a much more grueling trial. Back in the day, it was usually me and another guy that would win most matches, but in a round of Bond shots, I could let him win 2 quick ones and then try harder cause he couldn't handle his liquor all that well and would start playing <i>way</i> worse.
In every major night of Bond Shots I was always a consistent winner cause I'm good, <i>and</i> I'm good when drunk.
And that my friends, is why I'm the Best at Bond <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Seriously though, it would make my day if someone here got some friends together and played their first round of Bond Shots on my recommendation. It's a true test of endurance.
i am the best at it.
Oddjob wasnt so easy to use... He was just the best!!
I would glance over at my friend's screen as I was killing him just to see my lil Oddjob running around. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Anyway. I was the best at Goldeneye. Seriously. Few of my friends even had it, and none played it nearly as much as me. We never played it at birthday parties becaus, no matter what, I'd win. The strange thing was, stacking the odds against me didn't work either - even with a ridiculous handicap and 3 vs 1, all it would do is make me fight harder. Without fail or effort, I slaughtered them. Now, none of my friends will EVER play Goldeneye with me.
But I don't care, because I've got Perfect Dark. And you can play with bots in PD, so I can play WITH my friends instead of against them.
[edit]Oh, about Oddjob. I never had a problem if someone wanted to use Oddjob and NEVER used him myself. Why? Because auto-aim usually targets a person's chest, but because Oddjob is short it targets his HEAD instead. Pretty much the same reason why no sane person will play as a Maian in Perfect Dark[/edit]
[edit] heh, one of my friends used a maian for his whole PD career, sonofab*** kept on double crouching and becoming impossible to kill to everyone except me (who stuck with his turock controls) everyone kept on yelling at him to "stop using an f-ing cheat character!" twas pretty funny.
Oh and lets not forget one of the best non drinking ways of playing PD, Laptop Supremacy! Basically everyone would go to warehouse (its been a long time since PD's been stolen from me so correct me if I'm wrong with the level here) and we would set aside a slot for the laptop gun (hell, it should be there already, that gun kicks ****!) and we would add 8 meatsims, there is one room in that level that in which if you stuck a laptop gun on the roof you would get at least one kill per second (providing you have 8 simulants), then we would battle for control of that room, damn that was fun, ah memories... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> [/edit]
Stay up 'till about 3am, so that your brain goes nice and soft. Put on the x-ray glasses cheat. Now try to play through the game with them permenantly on.
But that pales into insignificance compared to:
Multiplayer. Give everyone 1000% health. Set the weapons to n-bombs only. Again, works best in the wee hours of the morning.
But my personal favourite, which I call "Blast":
Set the weapons to all the variants of mines. Only. Fill the simulants with normals. Play with one or two people. What happens is that the stupid sims will throw tonnes of mines at each other but won't detonate them, and will then resort to fists. So, what happens is that you get these massive... caches of unexploded mines. All you have to do is trigger them. Then whenever anyone walks into the ensuring fireball dies, you get the kill. Scores run into triple digits over half an hour. It's basically competition among the humans to see who can find the "fireball sites" and set them off before the other players do.

you just crouch as him and play in LtK mode.. cheap-city. Also, using things like the RP90(was that a gun?) and shooting while crouched (assuming no auto-aim) made you ueber-leet in regular game-play modes.
Where I played we never used Jaws *or* Oddjob. Anyone else was fair game.
As for the best player, I was arguably the best player in my clique, but not through skill, but map domination. I would camp body-armor, take the best gun and hold it, camp body-armor... that was all I would ever do, and it worked every time.
[edit] and what is <b>up</b> with this talk of Auto-aim in Multiplayer? What are you guys, heathens? I always play my competitive games without auto-aim activated[/edit]
If you have no idea what I'm talking about watch someone who is crouched on Goldeneye. The skim on their knees!
but in goldeneye, my trademark move was littering the facility main hall with all of those triggered mines on the backside of the supports so you wouldnt see them when running in, placing them in such a way that they were all within detonation range of eachother, and placing a single area-activated mine at the second door at the end of the hall. The "smart" players would stand back and shoot that one mine, only to find that the entire hall turned into a MASSIVE fireball the second it exploded.
Most (all) of my friends use autoaim in PD, which is fair enough. But one of them is non-newbie (he doesn't play as much as I do, but he's non-newbie) and it irritates me when he uses autoaim because he really doesn't need it. But then again, fair enough against me...
My favorite mode was the one where one guy ran around with the flag and everyone else teamed up to frag that guy and steal his flag. Dunno the name of it, though...
