The AWP was chosen because it is a weapon that fills a spot missing in the marine armory. A powerfull gun, accurate, but slow. It has zoom, and will be used in the new version that will be release soon, 1.1. There is no need for a gun that zooms and the pistol is good enough. Its the perfect gun (except for the clip size), fast, powerful, and 99.9% accurate (to its x-hair).
