Relocation On Tanith

<div class="IPBDescription">a new idea</div> There was once a game n which the marines were holding reactor room and waste (surprise surprise!). I was on the alien team and we put up some defs and offs in the tunnel between rr and cargo. Thus we finally managed to clear both locations, because the marines weren't able to push us back.

This is when I first thought about that idea:
What if the marines relocate to that particuliar tunnel. I mean storage access (the tunnel which connects reactor room, waste and cargo). At that point, it is quite easy to control the two res towers in rr and also to control waste hive. Moreover, marines have free access to cargo and fusion. Thus the marines have 4 res towers (2x rr, waste, cargo) in their sphere of influence and 3 res towers (west access, acidic and fusion hive) not too far away. The tunnel itself shouldn't be that hard to defend and the aliens are restricted to Sat hive only.

I must admit that I haven't tried it, yet, but I will definately do so in the near future. I am fed up with cargo/rr relocations and it seems to me that this idea might work, actually.

Just one comment, when it comes to reloacating to waste hive. If you have siege in your base, weld the vents. Otherwise, you can get easily screwed over ala walls of lame.

Definitely a good idea relocating to that hallway. It will be costly to defend the resource nodes with anything but mines, but with sieges in the hallway you can definitely keep the aliens from using them.

It is actually best to relocate to Cargo Bay. It's a quick way to lock-out a hive and secure two res nodes. This isn't entirely practical if they started in Fusion but rather if they started in Waste Handling or especially Satellite Communications. Best thing about Cargo Bay is that it is a central hub for movement. Locking down this area and Chemical Transport basically locks one side of the map off from the other. After that, just cap all the nodes opposite of the Kharaa hive and it's a downhill battle from there.

some1 suggested before to relocate to chem transport. and i tried this on a 20 player a couple of days ago. and it worked a treat.. immediate access to sat so no early phase needed. the ability to cover chem transport and acidic RTs with one tf. quick access to cargo storage and the ability to siege cargo if necessary from the one tf in chem transport. this led to a game where i had 2 hives locked very quickly 5 RTs. i even let a gorge sneak in to fusion and start building his hive before i pinged it and blew it away with siege.

only problem is this really shines only when aliens have waste.. if they had sat comms it would be hard to pull off i imagine.

This chem relocation seems also to be quite funny
