Translation of the Gamez.nl from our forum buddies at <a href='http://www.hl-nightwatch.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=406&start=40' target='_blank'>HL Nightwatch</a>:
We will no longer make any excuses, because Gamez (the website) is working so closely with the PCZone Benelux (Benelux = Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemborg) we were involved very close. We can announce you that a new game is in the making. Also, worldwide all the big gamemagazines will be loaded with booty, soon. Our sistermagazine (PCZone Benelux) even will come out a week later, just to be able to tell our readers about it in every detail!
On the 28th of April the new PC Zone will be in the shops, but today - the 21th of April - are we allowed to show the cover for the very first time. We weren't allowed to do so earlier, this was due to an embargo VALVe had given us concerning the information. They didn't want people to find out which game was being worked on. The embargo is now lifted and thus the people of PC Zone gave us permission to be the first to show you this very special exclusive! Such as promised the last few days, we will no longer search for any excuses: VALVe is working on Half-Life 2.
Our colleagues of the PC Zone Benelux will be spending a lot of attention in their upcoming edition. If we are informed right, you'll be expecting a whopping 14 pages of information, all with text and imagery. And an advice from our side: If you are a fan of the original Half-Life, and you're as excited about the game as we are, then you should definately look up on the upcoming version of the PC Zone Benelux. We saw it, the information is delicious!
That's that. For people not living in Holland, Belgium or Luxembourg, I'll advice you to keep an eye out for all the games magazines. I'll surely will be rushing of to the stores next week, and if possible, I'll scan some of the screenshots. (The text won't be much of interest to you people who can't read Dutch. )
Half-Life 2 at E3 4/21/2003 9:40 PST | Half-Life | by Fragmaster | Valve's Doug Lombardi sent along the following: Half-Life 2 will be shown at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. So all these wacky rumors should be cleared up by May 14th.
I am expecting scanned copies of all these magazines, with accompanying english translations, on my desk no later than April 29, all you Dutchmen. And I will be in Amsterdam in May, so don't make me come after you!!!

-Half-Life 2 is scheduled for a September 30th release. -Yes, you're still Gordon Freeman, and yes, the story assumes you went to work for the G-Man. -Half-Life 2 takes place in a European city called "City 17." -Headcrabs will be back! Although some of the Xen aliens will be your friends? -Barney is back. And so is Half-Life's original writer, Marc Laidlaw. -While the new engine has all sorts of fancy features, it's still designed to work on lower-end machines. Apparently a 700mhz processor and a video card capable of running DX6 is enough, although a 2ghz with a GeForce4 is recommended. -The girl in the promo art is named Alyx, a daughter of a scientist who factors into the story somehow. She's not playable. -Scripted Sequences will be more interactive. -Half-Life 3 is planned, so expect another cliffhanger ending.
