Looks good -- may I suggest adding more lighting contrast?

i don't like the doorway...too orizontally thin and too much vertical space. i would change a bit it,also it has not very beautiful angles, try to use a pair of brushes more

Yeah, that doorway is a bit wierd. I think it would look 10-fold better if you just deleted the two triangles at the bottom, and let it be one straight shot to the floor.

Nice plant sign texture!

Also, I just thought of something -- nothing too major -- like one of those silly questions -- doesnt something need to be projecting the hologram for it to show up? It cant just be there. (I dont think you would need to accualty put something in but just wondering) I have a million things like this.. like how does a player in trbies, with all that armor, go to the bathroom? !

I like the updates but still think more lighting contrast would make this place come alive.

I like how you covered up that open drippy hole in the ceiling, it would have been odd to see the bobs crawling along nothing

SentrySteve projectors are easy, contrast lighting is more difficult, it means going from texture strip lighting to spotlights, which could be fiddly...

Here are two picture of changes i've made to the command center. These pictures show the expanded floor space for building and a vent entrace for the aliens.

Im glad that you remade that cc room, seemed way to dark and griddy. I like those holos also, how exactly did you create those?
• ChromeAngelChromeAngel Join Date: 2002-01-24 Member: 14Members, NS1 Playtester, Contributor
The 'holograms' are basicaly a black func_illusionaries with rendermode set to additive and a custom texture for the sign.

man I -luh- that vent.. can I steal that idea (actually, it reminds me of aliens) ??
• shovenshoven Join Date: 2002-01-24 Member: 29Members, NS1 Playtester, Contributor
That fan texture would look much better if it was giving off some more light. Love that vent, and the holos are a nice touch. I still don't like the colour scheme you've chosen though

Finally put projector fades on all the Holograms. I don't like how it looks in the hallway here, so I think i'll take the fades out again.

More contrast on the way to the generator.

i would suggest replacing some of your texture lights with point lights, it would add a lot of detail to your architecture and improve the mood a lot.
