Yeah as you can see I did poorly since I have only played for 1 week on HL DM. But at least look at Chron-whats-his-name score. There were actually like 6 people in the server earlier though.

    Not possible to tell if somebody cheats based on a score. Maybe all the other players were as new as you thus making it pathetically easy to go 98/1.

    Well all I know is that most of the players who left after the screenshot was taken had approximately the same # of kills as deaths so no, they were as good or better than me to say the least. We even sort of agreed to gang up on only Chronarch and he still killed all of us on his own. Even if all players were newbish I dont quite think 98 to 1 would be 'pathetically' easy cuz all it takes is a tiny bit of luck and he would have died a couple more times but that wasnt the case.

    BTW Im more of a Novice than a newbie since I know the game and weapons pretty well I jus lack some of the skill that most people have.

    that really isn't proof, I can do that in a few mods.

    what it comes down to is knowing the game THAT well

    Get a good rythem, know where each piece of HP/AR/wep is, have a good path through the map that you stick to, etc

    the only good ways to find out if some one is cheating is via spec. but yah, scores don't meen enugh to prove anything.

    (not e I am not saying he wasn't cheating, I am just saying that it is possible that he wasn't)

    well yeah maybe he just has a life with the quality of less than a ham sandwich cuz Ive never seen a score better than that in all the time that Ive played HL AND the mods AND other games online.

    All I can say is that you can't have played that much then. I've seen it happen plenty of times before, and have done it just as many. A good DMer can easily lay the smack down at any time. All you need is practice.

    So, chances are that the guy was just really good.

    My question towards players like Chronarch is how can they enjoy a very simplistic game enough to get that good at it? My interest never keeps for 1 game/mod at a time for more than like 2 months.

    hehe, some people also just come into a game with tones of skill

    My example is HLPB for me, with in a week I was picked up by one of the best clans. The head of the clan could also pull scores like that against me, where as I could pull scores like that on other people.

    Also in HLDM, I have pulled stuff like that playing 2 people vs me (Actualy on teams) Simply enugh it is VERY possible he was cheating it is also VERY possible he wasn't

    there just is not info either way.

    I used to play with a guy who was just insanely good... once he got a tau cannon and the long jump module he was completely utterly unstoppable (except when I managed to lay a satchel charge trap for him once <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->). I know he didn't hack because I would watch over his shoulder as he demolished people, but being on the recieving end made you just sort of drop your jaw in amazement at how good he was. Ever since that I've been more forgiving about suspiciously good people.
