Fake Players To Boost Player Count

<div class="IPBDescription">Why run this on a server?</div> I'm curious why some server ops add this feature to their NS games. If your server is currently hosting a 3v3, why advertise it as a full 12 v 12 game? Its easy enough to spot when you look at the player list before you join to see that these are fake players taking up spectator slots. Even if players join expecting a full server of players they'll just leave once they connect and see what's going on. What does this provide, and why run it in the first place?

    because players set their server browsers to filter out empty servers.

    People with empty servers are like used car sales people and will try anything to get your 'business'.

    In my humble opinion, servers with bots are better than servers with fake players.

    Server's with bots are actually good to test out alien building strats to see how much of a certain structure you can build in certain areas and how fast you can tech up and all sorts of other things. Fake players are just plain retarded.

    A server that does this ALL the time (never has real players) is "Team Allergics Fun" server. That's probably not the exact name but it's damn close. I wouldn't visit this server if I were you.
