Medpacks / Ammo

<div class="IPBDescription">don't pick 'em up</div> The most annoying thing is, when you ask for ammo or medpack and someone else picks them up in front of your face.

I mean, if your health is...lets say 90/20, someone requests medpack and commander drops it between you and the guy who needed it. Now, dont rush and take it for getting a full health, instead leave it on the ground and let the other guy have it. Probably he will need it more than you do.

Same thing with ammo's. If someone else asks for ammo, make sure that <b>he</b> gets them, not you. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

I hear you. Another similar thing is when someone picks up that hmg you've been waiting for for ages right under your nose.

I would really like to see your face, if you pick up a GL and you dont have a HA or there are no other marines nearby. So you couldn't give it to anyone and if you drop it on the floor, it will disappear <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

And if you think you are not valuable enough for 2 res, what about 33 rp <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Acctually when I DO pick up weapons I use em
But I mostly play on vet servers so im the worst player
    lol
Then I get the "If I give this to anyone else it will be better for the team"-feeling

There is a much easier solution than trying to appeal to the masses of public server players who believe that at 90 health, they are more eligible for a medpack than the guy with none. If you're a commander just make sure you drop it right on the person. There is always time to have them pause for one or two seconds to make sure you target the right person. Unless they're under attack in which case you either shouldn't be dropping the medpack, or it doesn't really matter who picks it up.

Well Ratfire, you are right, medpacks can be dropped that way, but what about ammo packs?
Commander can't see how much ammo marines have and it is difficult to give them to the person who really needs ammo, if there is a group of marines.

Happens to me all the time, I always seem to pick up equipment that was meant for someone else..

What I find though is once I realize I picked it up, I go to drop it (and let the correct person grab it) and the person has run off... (generally cursing me all the way)

I advise comms to either drop weapons ON the person they are meant for, or slightly away from the armoury where fewer people are likely to accidently grab it.

Sadly, the only real solution to this problem is the same solution as so many others:

    Don't Play With Stupid People.

Yes, the same old "find another sever with decent players on it" is the only real way to stop this happening.
