<div class="IPBDescription">got any?</div> I've been using Nexgen AcidMax so far. Its basically just your regular MiRC with a nice skin over it and some added features to it. It does make using MiRC more friendly and exciting in a way with the nice colors and buttons and the sw33t sounds.
I was just wondering if there are other such alternative MiRC progs out ther liek it. I know there are 2 other alternatives tht ppl use (polaris and another i forgot) but those still use tht bland old grey. ;p
Hehe. Mayb i am just spoilt for nice skins..hehe

you mean mIRC <i>scripts</i>? mIRC by itself is the program; various scripts exist for it to add options and make it look better. If you meant a different IRC client, try jIRC...LOL, j/k.
the most popular mIRC script is polaris (i think). I use omega script, but that's only out of channel loyalty <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
(even if the script parser isn't programmer-friendly (you have to put the {in the same line as the command... that's crap :/ ))
It has cool icons too <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Probably because the scripts use line numbers (at least in the file) and the guy was too lazy to make the parser read until it finds the next syntax element.
XChat's a great IRC client, though it doesn't have the 'ooh, flashy lights!' factor that the original poster seems to want. It's more of a power user's client. Binary plugin support, as well as native PERL scripting. Configurable out the *ss, but comes with defaults that you can just install and go with, then modify later to get your personal preferences suited.
Windows and Linux, and I believe it also supports TCL modification without a compile.. though I've never put that feature to use, myself.
