You Expect One Small Thing From People In Life

<div class="IPBDescription">And they don't do it..</div> Alright.. I know people are freaking retarded in general. But really, you'd think over 80% of them wuold have common sense. And not big things either.. just small things like, shutting the door to your house as you invite them in and you walk away from the door, obviously expecting them to shut it. BUT NO!! THEY CAN'T DO THIS!! why can't they?!?! I don't know.. but I'm worried about my cats that get out every damn time some idoit doesn't shut the door. Why would you need a door open? You don't get anything from it other than bugs that can fly in easily now.. geez

I'd understand if it was like.. the middle of summer and we where all sweating while living in the middle of California.. but it's April.. and I'm in Wisconsin.. next to a lake.. it doesn't exactly get much cooler.

    Is the 80-20 rule.
80% of the world's population is made up of morons, while the other 20% is made up of intellegent people.

As my old man was fond of saying

"The thing about common sense is: it isn't actually that common."

I like the way it was described in the movie <u>Men in Black</u>.

Paraphrased, it said that almost any person is capable of being very intelligent, resourceful, and respectable. People taken as a group, however, are almost always the exact opposite.

I ask what the owner of the house wants done with the door. However, if the owner of the home is standing at the door, I don't feel it is right to close the door for them.

    its a door.

if its normally closed and i am last through i close it.

if its not normally closed and i am last through i leave it open.

if i dont know this house well, i dont go through last. (so its no longer my problem)

    simple really.

Hah. Yah, It always seems like you expect some people greatest achievement in their life is being able to put their pants on in the morning. I really agree with you that some people are just stupid.

    Although its an 80-20.

80% Can put on pants 20% Can close doors.

all i have to say is look at the popularity of "reality shows", and for some odd reason they wont die, maybe its becasue its that 80% that keep them on the air...

People in mass are stupid, because of the 80-20 rule. Look at it like this:

    -You have 1000 People
    - 4/5ths of them are morons
    - 1/5th of them are intelligent people

Now, who do you think will have the largest influence? Majority Rules.

The only thing you can do is hook up with the few local 20% near you, and try to not go postal on the 80% folks. Its not their fault they are dumb, blame society <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

That gives me an idea for a shirt:

    Front:
Lifetime Member of the 20% Club

    Back:
    The Other 80% Are Morons

Goes great with your SUYF jacket and RTFM hat!

I think I enjoy it the most when I go shopping in a supermarket and people are too busy to push their cart foward in the checkout line so I can place my items on the stand, not to mention placing a divider between their purchases and mine. I always place one behind me out of consideration. Sure it sounds like it has nothing to do with anything in this thread..

I think politeness and intelligence goes hand in hand. It may seem like a pointless gesture to do so, but if you are like me, you appreciate the person in front of you for moving and allowing you to offload your items and not worry about placing a divider bar in front. Its my one major gripe because I have to shop for four roomates including myself, which usually means two carts full of foodstuffs and junk (mainly junk) and I always manage to place the divider bar behind all my items. No express lane for me (not that the people there put their divider bars anyways).

As you can tell, I'm always really cheesed about small inconsequential things.

What's worse are those who go through an express lane with a cart at my store. Many of them get the items bagged, put them in their cart, walk a few feet, remove the bags, and walk out of the store. Why is this a problem? They unload their bags in the middle of the main aisle, and leave their cart right where they stopped, even though the cart rack is ten feet away.

And sure, I try to always put the divider at the end of my order.

The worst is at a smaller corner store, where counter space is limited. Someone has something small, like a few cans of Coke, but they almost seem to insist on putting it in the most inconvenient place possible.

I was at a store earlier today, and there was one guy with the above-mentioned cans of Coke. There was an elderly lady behind him in line who had an armload of smaller items, but still he made no move to push the two cans aside while he slowly dug through his wallet to find his debit card. I was in line behind the lady and really got annoyed with the guy, so I stepped around the lady and pushed the cans aside. She was then able to put most of her items on the counter, which she thanked me for.

The worst part was when the guy looked up and glared at me as I pushed the cans aside. Obviously, that kind of attitude really gets on my bad side quickly. Even after he paid and walked out of the store, he still glared through the store window before getting into his car.

From what I frequently hear, most of the world seems to consider most Canadians (<i>and Newfoundlanders, even more so</i>) as being very polite and courteous. Fortunately, the 80/20 rule seems to be in our favour, with only 20% in the idiot/impolite/uncourteous category. Sadly, it's the few idiots, like this one guy, who can spoil even the best of reputations.

<i>K</i>: A person is smart. People are dumb panicky animals.

    that's the general rule.

and I'm polite like the canadians are. If I wait 3 seconds holding open a door, people usually say thanks. What really bugs is when people have two doors yet they insist on crushing through one because the other isn't open!...**** lazy idiots. Don't let me get off on a rant.!

Also, I get incredibly cheesed off when you call someone, its a wrong number, you ask what number it is, and they hang up. So when you try to call again and get the same number, you can say its their fault for being an #$%hole.
