i was admin on a server the other day playing ns_simulated. i was a lerk and i went 20/3 or so. the only times i died were from one player. he was the only one to kill me ever. at first, i thought he was cheatingn and it certainly seemed that way. i decided to ignore it, as he may just be good. i did not want to kick him as he would just think it was because he was the only one who killed me.
i also saw a "speed hack" as my mate put it. a skulk was jumping about all over the place (map ns_siege005) the skulk could get from one end of the big hall nr marine start right to the other in a few seconds. it wasnt leap cos it was silent and he did it continuosly without resting. he would jump off the wall, hit the ground, run for a bit, jump and land on the other wall. i could not even get a bullet to hit him with my hmg (and i can aim)

Sounds more like the impulse-leap problem than a speed hack. In that situation you would be able to spot the speedhack quite easily by watching the rate of descent. That hack speeds up every action of the player, including the rate at which they fall. If the guy was going 8x normal speed, he would also be falling down from his jumps at 8x speed. Which would be blindingly obvious.
Cheating is because some people just have issues. On the flip side, lots of people who have issues accuse anyone better than them of cheating.
A side note: people have been banned from Magic: The Gathering officially sanctioned tournaments for assault. WTH.
Some people just can't deal with losing. They may cheat, they may **** their **** off saying the other guy cheats.
Or they'll go play EQ or Tram-UO or some other game where you can't lose.
Eh, though, from a more balanced view, some people just find it fun. I've seen my friends, some of who have m@d skillz to start with (we're talking CPL qualifiers), cheat just because they find it fun to try to conceal it. It's a whole new challenge to them.

Personal, i never have used cheats on ANY game and never will. A) it ruins the game B) i takes no skill C) it wouldnt be fun
Imagine the cheater like an old guy, lying on the bed in hospital. He's connected to all kinds of hoses and machines. Turn off the electricity and puff. He's gone.

Ollj: whith your 3rd way to tell if someone is using an aim bot (them getting full ammo etc) that sounds like me. and i dont think i use an aim bot im rather good and stay alive for a long time so need ammo 300bullets is very often not enough at the begining of a round to kill the skulks
Well, i never cheat but i always stuff myself with ammo.
I'm not the best at grunting but i can sometimes stay alive long enough (with luck or with crappy aliens) that i use all of my ammo.
And i remember a few times, i and some player defended a resource node in ns_eclipse. We had motion tracking and could see all the aliens approaching. So we stayed alive, killed some dozen aliens and eventually ran out of ammo.
Anyway, good job with the cheating demo...
"When you rush all the time without diing much BUT without armoury humping you have no aimbot - aimbot users always want full ammo and they beg for it really hard !!!"
Its not hard to go solo and run off somewhere. A skulk apears. You shoot it, it dies. Another one apears, you shoot it, it dies. See, to overcome these solo rushers you must work as a team. Second of all don't call people who fill up full to 50/250 and request ammo every so often because to me, 250 ammo will only give me 4 dead skulks and I can overcome skulks easily when they are alone. It's just some people are better than others. Now if you see a JP who is flying everywhere aiming at one spot, then you can call him a hacker.

You know what I wish for sometimes? A 'hack' that could let me be invincible to one specific player, so whenever we see a cheater, we can all turn on the invincibility and eventually the cheater will leave. Obviously this takes a lot of maturity to not abuse.
I've seen accusations fly (and nearly fists) because someone considers something someone else did to be cheating or wrong or unfair at a LAN, so I'm happy that there's a lot of distance between hotheaded players....
How can people think others cheat during LANs!?!??!? just frekin watch over the shoulder of the person. I had a crowd going, every other kill i would here "No way!" and another person would be added to the crowd behind me... no problems

Llamas who like to ruin others games (ussually by cheating) just love to give a good clan a bad reputation for cheating by adding any old clan tag onto their name while they blatently cheat away...
I had it happen to my old clan once... the damn cheater changed his ENTIRE name to someone in our clan who owned him... Our clan got so much crap for that that they decided to keep a record on their site of all clanmembers WONIDs so they could easily check up on incidents where cheaters are reported as being in the team...
I think everyone here can stand to relax juuuuuuussssstttt a bit.
