Is This Possible To Make?

I got a question, and i think some others might have thought of this before. Would it be possible to make a smartgun P model, with the complete
smartgunner gear as shown in the picture below. The gear would have to be made for a certain model ofcourse. in my case id choose the hudson-high poly model. Is it possible to make the gear move along with the model. i would love it if this was possible and if anyone would give it a shot. And then again, another issue that would come up.. how would this work on the heavy models.. hmm. that is a tricky question.. and i dont know how to solve that myself, i doubt that there is any solution to that problem. unless one would simple reskin a normal marine, and simply make him a new texture with a bit more armor. Such as covering the arms and leggins even the face etc.. But back to the first question is it possible?

I think I have an idea which could make it work, but someone would need to model it first, of course <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

hmm.... you have to add bones to the p model... on this bones you can apply the smartgunner gear with the gyro arm... im not sure if you can add this to a p model..but im sure its not possible with the player model, because you will need a additonal submodel for the hmg..and i think the control of the submodel is hardcodet..because how should halflife know that you have a smartgun equipped and now your playermodel needs a new submodel... then point 2...when you have this submodel you cant connect the bones to the hmg p model..that means you would have to adjust every single frame where the smartgun moves around,so the arm would stay connected to it...but thats not possible..(new submodel)
the addet bones to the p model of the hmg could work..but again..you have to adjust every single animation frame,so the gear stay connected to the playermodel... but the question is..does a pmodel supports bones and animations? how should the animations controlled? the pmode is static connected to the hand joint of the player model...so it needs no animation sequences wich must be hardcodet into ns..

p models have the bones of the player too right? I was thinking you could just assign the bits of the gear to the corresponding part of the player <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

this bone is just a connector between model and playermodel..and supports no animations..ns havent codet that... you can add animations if you want...but ns would not play them, because there is no command for it

What about this: Don't do new anims, just model a playermodel with the additional armor. I think this armor would look cool with other weapons, too, so no need of a submodel or such stuff. Then, add to the p-model of the Smartgun the hydraulic-arm. When the gun's moved (and it will only move up or down) the weapon's arm will clip into the playermodel, but if it isn't too long it won't stick out of his back. I think this is should be possible, but I can't do it myself as I am just learnin how to skin and model.
