Fps Stuck At 50

<div class="IPBDescription">at a refresh rate of 85hz</div> Hello,

I have an AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1,667ghz) and a GeForce 4 MX420 on-board with 512 of (dual channel) system ram (of which 128mb is shared with the graphics adapter.) The refresh rate of my monitor is set to 85hz in Windows (XP) and I get fps counts of well over 70 sometimes in 3DMark2001, however it is stuck at 50 in Half Life. I have set both fps_modem and fps_max to 99.

Any way to fix this?

Have you tried disabling v_sync in your adapter properties?
