How Com On The Marine Comm's Map...

<div class="IPBDescription">there is ONE false square somewhere?</div> On every commanders map for every NS map there is ONE white square, somewhere on the mini-map, that doesnt represent a rez node OR a hive. What does it mean? Is it some point of interest or does it indicate the exact center of the map or something?

It's an easter egg the devs left in. If you can get one of your marines to build a turret exactly (and this is within about a marine's width) on the spot, it unlocks the Nuke code that Flayra used to have. I only ever managed to do this once though, and we lost before I could do anything with the Nuke.

Interesting "theory"....I'd love to know which map you did this on, because on EVERY map I've seen, the "extra" square was WELL within a wall, and could not be reached by anyone.

What the hell is with all you people implying I'm a liar of some sort? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> I'd like to see anyone aside from Flayra prove me wrong.

As for the spot being in a wall somewhere - if they made it easy to get to then everyone would know about it, silly.

Well, kindly inform us how you managed to place a turret in a wall...AND managed to get someone to build it. It sounds like an "odd" easter egg to me...and yes, currently, I think you're lying. Prove me wrong, and I'll change my mind. But having an easter egg involving building a turret on the white square to get a "nuke" which was removed from the normal game seems rather...unlikely.

I'd have to agree with the others, this seems highly doubtful to me.

This is also not very well known, but if you have the cursor moving fast enough when you click to drop a structure, you can get a pretty good distance into the wall and the game won't react fast enough to stop you from building. After that, you get a marine or two nearby to start using Voogru's /stuck to get themselves into the walls (it's hard). As the comm you can see them getting closer and closer, so you can tell them when to stop, turn around, and hit Use to build it.

It's not a map easter egg. It's in the game code. Voogru's unstuck has been around since before 1.04 was released, and I had never seen or heard anything about the Nuke easter egg before then. Perhaps Flay had his own ideas for an Unstuck feature, maybe him and Voogru are both in on it, I don't know.

    The point is, it works.

Many people theorize that its a glitch with worldmakers. They think that if you place a res nozzle and delete it, that it stays on mini map. This is a lot less far fetched than getting the nuke. Oh and by the way, you can only unstuck through glass. I am 99% positive.

No, it used to work, but doesnt anymore it was taken out of the game.

I find it interesting that several new names have been popping up to support this nuke cheat. Reminds me of something somebody showed me-

BlasterMaster - Man exploits are wrong you should not cheat
TehHax - Dude as long as they are in there I am gonna use them. The game makers put them in there!
    BlasterMaster - Not On purpose
TehHax - Can you prove that they didn't just put it in there as a joke?
Thewurm - Dude he's right the exploits are wrong
TehHax - Oh goody I got two people bashing me
TehHax - If you can prove they are wrong then I will stop
Thewurm - If you can prove they are right then I will shut up
    BlasterMaster - Good point
thewurm - Thanks thewurm, you are the only person supporting me
TehHax - HHAHAHA THEY ARE THE SAME PERSON
    Crowd - HHAHHAHA!!!! LOL!!!!
    thewurm has left.
    BlasterMaster has left.

Don't spread stupid, non-factual rumors. This is not true.
