Drop Ship

can some one give me and idea about how big and what shape a drop ship loos like.
(5 space bucks to the one who gives me a picture)

im considering these right now but i would really like a differnt one

1 -mech warrior

    In my opinion, drop ships are more like space APCs. I'd go for more a Star Trek runabout approach.

    my one problem is it seems a wee bit big for a max load of 12 rines thats all:)
    (allso those **** turrets)

    well, the max load would suggest that the Inner Sphere has more than only one dropship. I find it highly likely <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    What is your problem with the turrets?

    that dropship actualy carries 4 mechs, so yah, it is fuggen hooge

    but if you scale that down then you have a good idea. As for the weps, I personaly think all things should have guns on them, but thqats just me <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
    And ringmount turrets are your friend (you could just place like 1 or 2 on)

    But yah, a SpaceApc is just about right, however a runabout aint that.

    Think of a helicopter (pig, open space in the middel. quick load/unload) now knock of the propelers and stick on thrusters <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    So you see why it has that style of doors. What you could do is squich it to gether so that that it just has 2 of those doors alowing quick exit (ala the Delorian from Back to the future)

    that drop ship also looks really cool in person (my local gaming store has one ;D)

    yeah, im just afraid if i make turrents some one will want me to make them work:)

    Alright, my suggestion for a TSA dropship is simple. If you ever read the manual, you'd find out that the Fronteirsman are a new force, less than a year old. When i heard that i immeaditaly(sp?) thought that the Fronteirsman would have to make do with whatever thay got their hands on, I first had the idea for the marines using old decomissioned TSA craft, and convert it to their purposes, (pic soon) Then, i had the idea that the TSA, using all their political power, comondeered some merchant Freighters (makes mapping a dropship easier, just start in a futuristic cargo container, also, dont forget to have quickly repainted hulls, spray-painted over shipping logos with drippy paint TSA "winged swordgun" painted over. pic soon) and finally, i came up with the totally custom Fronteirsman vehiclie ideas, but thats for later, when the storyline behind the game progressed long enough.

    umm, honestly I would think that the Frontiersmen would have the top o the line stuff seeing how as they are perferoming the most vital operations in the preservation of Humanity.

    Thus why they have the latest and greatest Tech (ProtoLab)

    I'd go with "whatever comes to hand" Imagine a NASA shuttle, with the cargo bay stuffed with marines and nanite containers.

    For the future of the TSA I'd picture something with simple geometry (for ease of stacking) and easily discarded. Who knows, maybe the nanites cannibalise the dropship to build the command chair etc....

    umm, the CC comes with the ship/space station you are rescuing, and so do the nanites

    as for Delarosa's
    That aint a drop ship, it is a combat vehicle (probably along the lines of a hover craft, though it could probably fly slightly higher)

    it has no room for troops ;D

    hrm? sorry i haven't been paying much attention but what is it for? specifically, are you using it as an ingame prop (it doesn't do anything), a spawning point (it serves as ... the spawning point) or something else? it might be better if you made the drop ship as a model as opposed to world geometry..

    anyhoo, the dropship looks.. decent. which way is up? i'm assuming those big green things on top are engines? i do'nt know exactly what to say but i've always thought that lines running parallel to the ship look speedier than perpendicular ones, the choice of textures is good considering what you are limited to, the cockpit (?) area on the right looks a bit pointy..

    maybe if you had more than one view presented? i'm a bit confused now.

    i am going to put it in the marine start on my map. it wont do anyhting.. i dont think..

    the above view is top down

    the reason im not going to try and get a model is becasue it will be in teh marine base and there will 2500 epolies there if the marines build a base there. thus no more should be added.

    the following pic is the side and has labels explaining the sections
    conceptually it is similar to the mchwarrior thing already shown
