Pilots should be able to be shot. Yep thats right...

Snipers could take out pilots if there aim was good enough, you would have to shoot them through the glass though.

Also, any gun should be able to kill pilots, to help stop them taking off in your planes.

Also it adds to the realism.

Also, planes could take out pilots, which would be cool, since pilots would try to attack you head on.

    I remeber when you could shoot a pilot out of a plane with a MG, but those also were the days of deckbombing and rampant Tking on literally almost every server.

    In IL2 Stumovik you can be shot no matter where'd you're seated.
    Its quite common on the harder missions for your tail gunner to be
    slaughtered in the first 10 minutes if the action is intense enough.

    No realism!
    This game should be pretty unrealistic, BF1942 is so damn fun beucase its unrealistic. Like you can lift off with a B-17 after 2 seconds.
    But you could shoot the pilots in the cockpit in a old patch, I rememberd that. I have shoot many pilots when flying a fighter... it was cool to see the plane flying down towards the ground and suddendly... BOOM!

    It used to be this way, but they removed it because it was TOO easy to kill pilots. You just had to shoot a bit and you'd eventually hit the pilot and send his plane spiralling down. Also, anyone who complains about AA sucked at using it in the first place. Just yesterday, I downed 6 airplanes on the 1.31 patch.

    AA is fine, its takes about 30 minutes-to an hour of AA gun usage to master it, but once you get the hang of it, it is great at downing planes, especially if they try to do a bombing run.

    Perhaps only sniper rifles could take out pilots because of there power.

    Enginers / Snipers = Sniper rifles.

    There are some mods i think where you can still do that like soldiersrealism 9 i think. Planes go alot faster though.

    Yeah, I know some mod that is a realistic mod, but have forgotten the name.

    You can destroy tanks with one shot.
    Planes have only one bomb but they are stronger than regular BF1942 bombs.
    Spitfire has 8 guns total, 4 on each wing.
    The small aircraft bombers have regular guns and a big cannon that shoots big rounds and have two bombs under it (like the smaller ones).
    Sherman tank has been improved (has bigger gun and looks nicer).
    The heavy machine-guns like MG42 ect has a new texture (but I think its looks bad, I want to replace to the old one).
    The B-17 has just one load of bombs but it has about 20 bombs it can drop REALLY fast!
    A new gun too, M1 Garand...
