Kicked When Trying To Join A Team..

Ok, so when I try to join a team on certain maps (Sorry, I don't remember which ones..but I know they came with NS), I get taken back to console, then I hit esc and return to the server list. For some reason I get kicked from the server... anyways, I took a screenshot of the error, and here are the last few lines:

<b>BAD: 45:svc_bad
Wrote Erroneous message to buffer.dat
Host_Error: CL_Parse_Version: Server is protocol 1701860131 instead of 46</b>

Should I reinstall NS altogether? I'm really puzzled...this only happens on a few maps, not all.

    Well, at least you should try reinstalling it. Don't know what might cause that though.

    Happened to me once. Re-starting NS solved the problem for me. Other say they had to reboot their machine.

    Dude, I've gotten the same problem....I dunno what the problem is, but it is pretty annoying to join a server and be like yeah!!!... and then ohh wait #$%@. I hope the issue is resolved some time soon, so I can continue to chomp yah and pump yah with lead!!!

    I've had this problem in the past. Usually (if not all the times) it's happened to me is when I accidentally joined a server running a custom map, exited during the download, and then joined the other server. Restarting Half-Life has fixed the problem for me every time.

    Like I posted in the common problems...this happened to me quite frequently.

    I started to notice a patern...

    It only happened when I was either: A.) In a server that was C-D optional, and I didnt have it. B.) I had been kicked from a C-D manditory server, or had exited while joining when I noticed it was mandatory.

    All games after the above, ended with the same result. I was kicked...from EVERY server I joined.

    I finally broke down and installed C-D (cheating death, www.unitedadmins.com ). I have not gotten the same problem since.

    yeah it's cheating death that is the bad guy here. as said above if u join a C-D server and then join a normal server it **** up. Probably they will fix it for 1.1 , lets hope they do anyway.

    If it's a cheating death problem, there is nothing for us to fix in 1.1. You need to bring up all this in the cheating death support forums so it can be addressed by the authors of that app:

    Don't just post it here and hope that the programmers at UnitedAdmins happen to stumble across it. Do something for your HL community. It won't take much effort.

    When this happens to me (which it rarely does) all I have to do is restart HL, not reboot or reinstall. Hope that helps shave a bit of time off when this occurs.

    I love how the big solution for everything lately has been "They'll fix it in 1.1."

    Its as if:
    Andrew: Yeah, I have this nasty problem with my computer not recognizing my keyboard and it sometimes goes out mid-match (made up scenario).
    Charlie: Oh, no problem dude, I'm fixing that in 1.1 =D
