Roughly 3 AM this morning I decided to play a little NS on my server and there were around seven people in there. I joined alien and it ended up being 4 v 3 (marine/alien). The marines took two hives pretty quick and I couldn't do much but try to o-tower rush them. Ended up building a siege and taking that down so I was stuck. Both of my teammates left and it was 4 v 1. I was like hrm... what now? Went to their main base and loh and behold! It had no defense! Built me up a couple o-towers and some d chambers and did a classic o-tower rush. Killed 2 marines in the process (including the commander) before they could relocate. Killed the IP and the third marine came barreling in after me like some sorta rambo. My o-towers disposed of him. The last guy was inside my hive and he took it down. Well WTH do I do now? It's on nancy, I'm in the rine stat huddling around d-chambers for my life and he's all the way at subspace with no ammo. I couldn't believe it was a stalemate; never even thought such a thing could happen. We both refused to move and this went on for about 30 minutes while we chatted about whatever we felt like. I ended up turning tournament mode on and we had a jetpack/welder vs. skulk fight (which I won, yay!). The few people still left in the server thought it quite hilarious.
I would release the demo but stupid me put my rcon password in and I can't have you all seeing that.
I bid you all goodnight; for I'm so tired I can barely see.

Nice story, I'd have liked to have been there!
Couldn't you have slowly moved your lame forward towards the hive? It would have taken a while (especially if you reach the max number of nearby chmabers!) but I'm sure you could have lamed him out... I assume if something like this were to happen in a clan match, aliens would just win though laming out the remainig marines? I've been in the same thing actually, I knifed the hive early game on caged while the alien team ate my base. It ended up with me the only marine walking around with only a knife versus a single skulk hugging a group of D chambers, funny stuff. Ended up calling it a draw and having the admin turn on FF and nuke us both at once.
Indeed, you could have made a lifeline of def chambers towards the hive he was at. But I guess that'd been darn slow, I assume you didn't have much res towers, either.
PS. You should want to play on Roo's server because, quite honestly, it rocks. Decent regulars + sensible admins = brilliant server. Did u have regen coz u might have been able to make a run to noname perhaps??? But i guessing they might have had turrets, hmmmm how bout run to the hive as skulk evolve to gorge coz u lose no health when evolving and perhaps run and make hive, dunno??
neway sounds pretty funny, good thing u didnt go admin dodgys.. hehehe
Oh... and mapbugging is HEAVILY frowned upon in most of the servers I know. Doing it (without an admin having teleported you there himself) is normally grounds for a ban. Includes blipping outside the map with the use fo a certain plugin command, building sieges in walls, building sieges in the floor, etc.
Btw, is there a way of editing demos? Like decrease the length, or chop it into bit etc? (Without creating a avi obvioulsy)

On a slightly different note, is there a way to set friendly fire on without enabling tournament mode?
Zig you always seem to join when most of the regulars are not there, mind you I've not been playing much recently either with work being fairly nuts.

Roo's server is the first reliable, low-ping server I've found with good players who teamplay, as well as heavy admin presence.

On the G4B2S server (www.guns4back2school.com) I had just joined the maines and saw that we had over 500 res, i was like WTH we have all that res and i have a lmg?? Then i saw that we didnt have a cc. and only one spawn portal. There were two hmgs and one welder between the eight of us. So we rushed. We had taken over half of ns_hera! I was like ok if we win im gonna laugh. so we went after the archiving hive. and we died.
