Quick Mapping Question

Ok, quick DUMB questions...

1.
is there a way of turning on noclip, etc., in NS?

2.
why is everyone talking about using the wall_lab textures if there isn't anyhting in the wad, and how come it sez not to use it?

    Joba: Thats because there used to be very few textures in the wall_lab set (about 4?). Myself, KFS and Merkaba extended the set by quite a bit so that both Merk and KFS could use this theme in their maps and keep a consistent set with low texture memory usage. And yes, I did make rather a few of them, and I continue to do so. Blame me if you need to.

    (I have redone some of them to make them dirtier though. Looks rather nice, but noone will be getting their hands on them, it will mean too many problems with wadincluded textures and the like.)

    Are making textures difficult cause I have no idea, I have sketched some surfaces I want with colours etc. Any advice on porting these ideas and should I be flexible or stick to my design?

    Fam, I hope your going to send those textures to SLAP so he can include them in the 1.1 WAD <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Ziggy, textures are basicly a 256 colour bitmap. The size of the bitmap must be a multiple of 16 with a maximum size of 256, however powers of 2 look best in game (16,32,64,128,256). You can import a bitmap into a half-life WAD using <a href='http://www.telefragged.com/wally/' target='_blank'>Wally</a>.

    deathmatch 0 in the console (then reload the map).

    Tanith also uses the wall_lab textures in places.
