<div class="IPBDescription">BIG ARSE KNIFE!</div> Made this knife few days ago.
Both model and the skin are from me.

<a href='http://www.thegamingelement.com/xmas/other/knife.jpg' target='_blank'>Render</a>
<a href='http://www.thegamingelement.com/xmas/other/ns_democles1.jpg' target='_blank'>Screenshot</a>
<a href='http://www.thegamingelement.com/xmas/other/NSknife.zip' target='_blank'>Download (both arms included in .zip)</a>

**Note**
The knife is big, and the default anims of the light infantry where the hands play with the knife make the fingers clip into the blade, and the blade goes through the hand a bit during the "knife balancing" animation, but it's nothing major.

No problems with Heavy hands.

I compiled the knife for other mods as well:
    TFC
    CS
    Firearms

It's also posted at many other forums like the FA and deadlok fourms.

    No p_ or w_ models.
Sorry. Didn't feel like making them

I took a glimpse at the wireframe you posted for that thing. Can I get a number on how many polys? Arms included? Cause it looked way up there.

What a great screenshot. I can almost see...something. Do you have the gamma on your monitor jacked up to like 300% or something? I can't see **** in that picture.

I think pics such as that tend to become darker since its converted from bitmap.

    1496 polys with light arms
1582 polys with Heavy Armor arms

Knife model itself is only 580 polys.

Don't blame me for the polycount, blame the ns team for making such high poly hands!

That knife doesn't really match the game.

He uses flashbang hack. Thats why you can't see anything.

Instructions on how to use flashbang hack:
    1)Turn of monitor
    2)Wait...
    3)Do the same
4)After hearing gunshots wait for 2 seconds...
    5)Turn on monitor and see results. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Yeah well it wasn't my first priority as much as making a big arse knife and compiling it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
The default NS knife just looked really.."wimpy"!

does the knife work ok? bnecause "bone 02" is way off from the hands, is this a way of making it easy for you to understand?

i'm converting the scorpian knife from CS (with NS hands).... and using your model's files to be a basis (since bone 02 is in a finky place, i wanted to see if it worked)

this makes.... FOUR knife replacement models in the works/released....awsome, alsmot enough for a seperate knife section on my website...

    Bone 2?
You mean on the heavy hands?
I assume it was made that way by the NS team.

Why are you using my knife as a basis? I used the NS standard .mdl files!

the default ns file sucks... makes it hard for me to reanimate it..
  • BlackPantherBlackPanther Join Date: 2002-02-11 Member: 197Members
Yeah and their player models are even worse.
Usually, you make the reference stance of your player models standing up straight with arms either on each side of the torse, pointing straight down, or raised to shoulder level pointing outwards... but the NS player models has their stance already like in the middle of an animation.. sucks for wanting to put a new player model in.
