Do you think this could work?
note: there are a few things you should know before going 'WTH IS WITH THIS GUY'

- i have a newbie-ish knowledge of human body and how it works
- im working this out as i type it, and im not paying full attention as im busy
- please excuse me any liberties i take with maths

Okay, now on with it

do you think it would be possible for scientists to research and create a food [maybe modify an already existing one] to be totally used by human bodies so there would be no waste products = no having to go to the toilet for a number 2

first of all ill have a little looksee and find out how many hours per year this would save for the whole human race

okay, lets think.

lets say: 3 minutes normal for a number 2 on the toilet

and to be healthy, you go do this once every 2 days.

365 days in a standard year, divide by 2 = 182.5 days

now times 182.5 [days] by 3 minutes [3 minutes per day for a number 2]

that comes to 547.5 minutes a year. we wont round this off as of yet, to keep the final number as accurate as possible

now, according to http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0762181.html , there are a total of 6,082,966,429 people in the world as of mid 2000.

we'll round this off to 6.1 billion people

547.5 x 6.1 billion = 3 339 750 000 000

3340 billion minutes per year for the whole population on earth, wasted on number 2s

now heres where i may have screwed something up, im not sure, but what i get is:

3340 billion divided by 60 [to turn it into hours], then divide that number by 24 [a day], then divide it by 365 [a standard year]

the number i get is roughly 6355

so thatd be 6355 years in total time wasted by all of the people in the world [in a year] just doing number 2s

now thats where i go 'er WTH' and start thinking about not posting this

but im going to, so take that! ahah!

The human body must produce waste to be healthy. Your body will produce solid waste no matter what. In fact, some nutrients that cannot be digested are a necessary part of digestion, such as fibre. Also, the "No. 2" as it is called, removes various solid wastes and such...

In short, better out then in, if nature had developed a 100% effective digestion system, life could not exist. That is true, believe me on that, without bacteria leaving behind waste matter, soil wouldnt exist, they would multiply and the entire earth would be covered in a slimy primordial ooze.

Also, think of the implications. Human waste is the most common kind of fertiliser known. Once it's broken down by natural bacteria it can be used as fertilisers and such. Basically, by cutting out No. 2, you cut out the base of the food chains resupply, things that feed off the base such as plants and other smaller animals die out due to lack of nutrition, then higher order animals also die out due to lack of things lower in the food chain to feed off.

Also, if you didnt go No. 2, your body mass would steadily increase over time, which is the opposite of what everyone wants...

Anyhow, defecation is a necessary part of nature. Just like electricity can only flow through a complete circuit, Nutrients and raw matter passes through our bodies in a healthy, natural, and self renewable cycle.

Now, I bet in the next few posts we'll recieve some immature sod saying "huh huh huh, he said poop, huh huh huh" but then again, I have been known to be wrong so lets wait and see...

Anyhow, hope thats answered your question

Unless we're electricity - fed cyborgs , we'll always produce waste. It's a vital need.

Correct me if I'm wrong (rethorical statement), but isn't this a forum for serious discussions?

I think we should get rid of sleep, if anything. I hate sleeping, yet I cant seem to get enough of it... I read that sleep takes up 1/3rd of your lifespan (if you sleep 8hrs a day.) There is probably something useful that could be done in those 8 hours.

Even if the body needs to regenerate, the mind should be able to be put to some kind of work... maybe thats what dreams are, the brain searching for something to do while its anchor to reality must rest.

Has anyone ever felt as disconnected from reality as I do? I know I'm here, but nothing seems real. I must be going mad.

Did you know your average No 2 is about 2/3 bacteria!

And on the getting rid of sleep idea there was a short story I read about these men that didn't sleep because of surgery. To shorten it the went mad because they wern't able to mentally withstand it.
