Finally, some new textures in this theme...

The actual textures are 32x128 to make them more practical in my glory corridor, but I scaled these up for a better guage of what they look like. Thoughts?

    Please don't kill me, but I actually prefer the original textures in those shots. The new textures you made are good, don't get me wrong, but they just don't appear to fit in that corridor. The corridor is very industrial and grungy with steam leaking from pipes and metal everywhere, and having clean pink pillars in there just doesn't seem right. Also, with the dirty industrial setting and the intensity of the red light, you get a very tense and seemingly dangerous atmosphere, which cuddly pink ruins.

    Just my opinion.

    Edit: wait, I see what you're talking about. Either way, I get a better vibe from this corridor in general with these new textures.

    Practice, practice and a bit more practice. Some people even have some artistic ability, but for me its most definately practice.

    Fam has put together a couple more in this theme, and in addition to Merk's light texture with overlay, we now have about 8-9 new textures in this theme. I re-named them in order to fit the NS naming convention, and I will get a .wad posted here when we decide that we're done. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> If anyone else has any textures in this theme, let me know and I'll get it included with the .wad file.

    I'm with Gonnas. The old ones definitely looked better in my eyes. Like he said, it's not the textures, but rather is their placement.     I liked the glory for its smooth industrial feel. And the fact that it really did feel like a "Glory Corridor." The Level 5 alien feel. It's lost that feel with the new textures.

    Just my opinion, take it for that.

    This is actually what I envisioned of Eclipse all along. And finally, I've got it looking like it was supposed to from the start. I don't plan on reverting the textures, but I also don't plan on having the entire map this clean.

    I see what you guys are talking about with the grunge feel in KFS's shots, but the old textures were just way too crappy.  Maybe you could dirty up the new textures, cause that would probably make it perfect, just an idea.

    One thing I've noticed is that light_strip* textures are quite nice with a soft blur effect. If you've seen the use of light_stripred in any of my Eclipse shots, it has that applied, as does my use of an overlay on light_strip1 that I've started using for a bit more variation.

    I've gotten a couple more submissions from Fam, including another few walls and a rather nice floor texture. Should have this .wad file ready by tomorrow.
