Had my first NS game in 2 months today, and boy was it good. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Started NS up, had OPENGL on and had like 5 fps, and still managed to kill a marine in under a minute...
Changed my video settings to Direct3D- much better frame rate.


Played on Evolutionary Challenged, and Fam pwned me a few times, but i got my own back eventually <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Forgot that you need to *USE* the phase gate in 1.04 LOL i was walking into it for about a minute wondering why it wasnt working <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Well after that excellent game of ns, with a veteran commander (Fam who was that guy? he was ace!)

After that, i came back on the server an hour later:

Samwise spotted me...that entire game was an utter nightmare...dont want to speak about it... <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
i got pwned and the teamwork level was BAAAAD...they were going on about voogru servers being rubbish, when they should of been playing...

I think Samwise gave up and left at this point but a new round started andI must say, im amazed how fast marines can get jetpacks..its so annoying to shoot them down. A gorge on the evo server eventually covered the ventilation hive in web....quite a few fell victim to it, and plummeted to their deaths.....Oh how we laughed....

As usual i failed to get blink to work...there were about 4 gorges, just going gorge to cap res towers, LOTS of wall of lame building, and generall fun and chaos all round......Ahhhh its good to be back.....

Fam, Cat poker, and a few others will remember the first battle, but only Samwise will remember the chaos the ensued later on <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    i hadnt played in 2 months as well as of Saturday. And I tore it up. Took me one game to adjust, but bam,back in leading frags for Kharaa. even as a gorge. Marines just dont expect you to charge AT them spitting heals really. And im not a great gorge so I forgot about web. Ida done alot smoother if not.

    My statement isnt based on his framerate, it's based on D3D being faster than OGL.

    Yes, something is wrong with your drivers. OpenGL should always be better then D3D.

    Yes norn, what kind of gfx card do you have? If it's any kind of Nvidia your drivers are probably too old or something else is wrong. OpenGL under Half-Life runs much better than Direct3D. I use 41.09 drivers for my GeForce 3 Ti500 - and it is probably twice as fast in OpenGL compared to when I run Direct3D.

    well i dont know why D3D is better than OPENGL, but i can say that i have a crappy 32 meg video card.... <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Acctually I wonder if my FPS isent better in D3D to...
    Although I get odd bugs in D3D which I diden't get before..
