Gamestar.de (a German gaming site) has published an article entitled ‘Half Life 2: When, which, why’. It provides several quotations from video card manufacturers (ATI and Nvidia) and one from Valve’s Robin Walker that hints of a release this year. In all likelihood the information in the article is inaccurate, but its interesting nonetheless. A bablefish translation of the article can be read here (thanks Alex).

PHL article from today.

    Thanks.

Although, from what PHL says, it seems to me we're just reading some German guy's personal opinions/rumor mill.

Well... I hope on a sequel.

Half-Life is one of the best FPS I have played, and I will cry if they dont do a Half-LifeII.

    Thanks for the info.

All I had to say I said here.

The lowdown: Never trust a German gamer. I should know, I am German, after all.

Valve has over 80 employees. They're more than capable of handling multiple projects.

why can't they just be nice and tell us? They don't have to hype up anything, just come out publically and tell us that yes there is a half-life 2!! Damn them!

I think things are probably still clogged up with CS 1.6, Steam and CZ. It's taking them an eternity to do what would seem much simpler than making an entirely new game, so imagine the roadblocks they've run into with TF2 and HL2. I also think that they want to milk Half-Life dry before they move on.
