It's *very* hard to pick favorites in those categories, but I'll say:
1) Guinness
2) Spaten pilsner
3) Corona
Ask me tomorrow and I'll probably tell you different (except for the Corona, which I pick because you can add lime to it and thereby make it palatable; most swill doesn't make that as an option).
GO STRAIGHT EDGE!
Port
Bourbon
A good Red wine
Hmm maybe it is because I got expensive taste <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Though I suspect that people who disdain beer are in fact referring to what I term "swill", eg American Budweiser (King of Swill). You get yourself down to a good bar, order yourself a beer that comes from a tap instead of a bottle, and was not made in America. If you're feeling bold, order something besides a lager. Then you tell me that beer is inferior to all other alcohols. And I defy anyone here to tell me that red wine goes as well with German food as does a liter of good German beer.

Hello, my name is burr, and im an alcoholic.
Im also turned 21 this year, hehe...
yes most of the beer here is swill (bud, etc)
however there are some good beers brewed here, Sam Adams, Petes wicked, blackened/red voodo and a few others.
Then again I am a stout person (Ah My goodness! My Guinness!)
Though I will drink mixed drinks (if one of my friends is making kalhua stuff or what not) I tend to stick with beer simply b/c it goes great with hearty food (my type of food)
yes brat and beer ;D great combo <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
then again I also believe that the %90 lindt choclate bars are god's gift to man (You can't buy them in the US bugger all, only one I have had was when my bro brought me back one from France ;D)
At least I can get my %80 bars here <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I'm an American too, but I still dislike most American beer, at least the macro-brews. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
There are a lot of good microbrews, though, particularly on the West Coast - Wolaver's Brown Ale and Obsidian Stout are the two examples that leap to mind.
And bratwurst and beer... mmmmmm. Particularly if it's a "boot" - ever done that? It's something like 2 liters of beer in a big glass boot - best to share it with a friend.
umm, 2 liters, sure you don't meen like 2 pints (that would be about 1 liter), and that would be understandable ;D (2liters = soda bottle, I don't think my bladder can hold that much liquid)
and anyway, I really hapen to like bear glasses, not sure why, I just like em ;D

Try 'n guess, given that I mentioned West Coast microbrews. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> California. The "boot" is actually a German thing, I'm guessing, since this is a German restaurant I'm talking about. Apparently they have to order the boots from Germany; they're printed with the Bitburger logo.
And yes, I mean 2 liters. And that's why I said to share it with a friend. And that's why consuming a boot, even when sharing it, is referred to as "getting booted".
but to each his own ;D

Just remember, 2 liters shared with a friend is 1 liter each. Which is only about 2 pints. Which is still a lot. But it shouldn't kill you. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
well actualy, yah, 2 liters over the course of a meel shouldn't get you realy hammered, just don't think of driving ;D
and dear god am I good at procrastinating, I need too wright 1 and 1/2 more pages for my midterm final due tomorow ;D

Amen.
1. Guinness (is there really any other worth talking about?)
2. Harp
3. Killians
there actualy are a few other good portes and stouts around here but Guinness is the only one reguarly avaliable
I'm a Guinness man myself.
As an excellent alternative I recommend Samual Smith Taddy Porter. If you can find it <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
In no particular order.....
- Strongbow (apple cider)
- Smirnoff Ice
- rum + coke (Captain Morgan dark)
Heh, my birthday was yesterday so I have recent memory of all three. Unfortunately, the bass beat from the thumping music is still lingering in my head this morning...... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
