Deph Marine's Or Just Trying To **** You Off?

I don't know how many times I have to tell the marines (when commanding) that a Skulk is attacking a resource node.. which is 5 ft from the phasegate that lead's to the mainhive. I can look on the map, say can you take out that skulk attacking node at Atmospheric, then the 5 HA marine's walk off as if I didn't even say anything at all. Then, 2 seconds later a second skulk starts attacking the nodes, 2 LA marines come through.. look around then go right through the phase again when you can obviously hear Skulk's at the node. Then, they move on to the next-node.. 3 of the HA marines come back for ammo.. the aliens stop attacking and I tell them the aliens are attacking the second node. They scream for welders, when I keep telling them to kill 2 skulks. I drop them welders and they go running off and the two skulks finish off the node then just combine attack the phase-gate until it's dead.

Now, it comes to where.. are these marines just really retarded and deph or are they just trying to **** you off for a welder or HA or HMG?

    I see this a lot, and I consider it the "someone else will take care of it" philosophy. Since there are other people on the team who are presumably listening to the commander, everyone on the team feels that it's not their responsibility to clear out that skulk because someone's probably already done it and it's just a waste of time. I've caught myself doing this a couple of times, and generally I was the only one to show up to save the node/phase/whatever.

    Yes, i have also encountered a large number of these people....These are probably the same people that say that marines make no foot-step sounds...i have head-phones..i can hear marines coming a mile-off....

    Are you sure aliens didn't had sensory? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Lots of people should be lucky i'm not an admin hehe.

    One rule will be:
    Listen to the commander or be kicked. If he tells you to march off a 3000 foot cliff w/o a JP..you WILL do it.

    What's even worse, some "teammates" also apply the same philosofy when it comes to defending and COVERING.
    It sucks to die because nobody bothered to cover while I'm building and instead are playing "press the flashlighttogglebutton as many times per second as you can" and "sing loud, sing proud!".

    Having said that, the number of total N00bs seems to be dropping.. (on European servers at least <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> )

    you see now, this is where a comm_slap_player command would be nice. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Seriously, it absolutly SUCKS when marines think or even say "Cant someone else do it?".

    Jesus... stop requesting weapons, we dont have enough res; but i guess if you had covered those 3 res nodes and the double in holo room we wouldn't be in this mess, now, would we? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    This seems to happen all the time when I command, is there some kind of bug that doesn't allow marines to hear skulks attacking right after you go through a phasegate? or something....

    First and Last Rule of the Marines:

    If your commander tells you to go do something, DO IT! If this means that you die, DO IT! A Marine's first and only chain of command is the Commander. If he tells you to hop on one foot and toggle your flashlight, DO IT! The Commander is only 1 step down from God.

    yeah, it's the "Someone else will do it" syndrome. If i'm around base (usually am) and comm. shouts "Save X" I'll say:
    "Give me a Way point and i'm off" or
    "Rgr that, OMW (On My Way)."

    Comms can make some _very_ poor decisions from time to time though...
    If our base is <b>totally</b> undefended and we don't have a cc built somewhere else I won't leave base, no matter how many times I get an order <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo-->
    (I would also start a vote to kick him out btw...)

    I had the deaf marine problem alot. That is until i realized that when you comm, all your mouse buttons become unbound, so when I <i>thought</i> I was yelling at my marines to get somewhere I wasn't yelling at all.

    But back on topic, I don't comm often, just because my terrible comp won't allow me. It's hard enough to play with 10 FPS as a regular marine. Anyhoo...
    sometimes it is just the fact that people don't know where things are on the map I think. If you tell a new player to go save the res at atmospheric processing, but don't give him a waypoint for whatever reason (you are busy with another attack squad on hive, etc.) he might go wandering off looking for it, or just ignore you and walk off. I don't think people should get punished, because I would think that the majority don't *really* know what they are doing. Of course there are all those rambos out there who don't give a flying **** about the team, and will just do whatever they please. But hey, its something unavoidable I guess.

    *EDIT*: WOW I can't spell.....
