<div class="IPBDescription">Am i a n00b ?</div> First, hey, cool, nice a rich mod.
1st impression, playing ....craft from inside. Amazing.
2nd impression, weeee, it's nice designed, great atmosphere.
3 rd impression, no idiots ? wait, ah here one who recycled all our stuff before leaving (it wouldn't feel real with no idiots would it ?)
4th Impression, after some games as a grunt, time to jump in that CC. Ooch ! omg, is my team flaming me ! lol.
5th Impression, after 5 failures as a comm (sorry for these team), a victory as a comm, so cool.
6th Impression, a few games later, a victory as a true leading comm, opposed to a comm greatly assisted by a good team, even cooler.
I am not an experience player yet, there are many things to master.
But is my n00b time over ? (as a Frontierman i mean, cuz as an alien, i am still "equally worthless <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> )
PS :
My tip to those who are n00ber than me, before whining your comm for this or that, check the ressources.
You'll sometime get a clue why the comm can't drop you that JP & hmg with 3 res (and no LAB eventually).
A second tip ? Think that as marine, you manage a one to one relation with the comm, the comm manage a one to MANY relation.

That's right <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
And yes, you should play as alien too, because when you learn about how all alien species work and what they can do and what they can't, how does the resource system work, how strong they are, etc... Then you can use that information against aliens better when you are commanding <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
I tried the aliens and done some stupid n00b stuff already.
Going gorge as there was already 2 <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> (a big no no)
Waste res in useless crap <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
Lately, i did set up half a dozen offensive behind a marine exit door in eclipse, added some healing, web the area (at this point, nothing crazy) but then, i told myslef "what can i add ?".
Hmmm, sensory, that sounds cool. Lets build !
Yep, i did it, a sensory NEAR the marine spawn, the damn thing kept spamming "enemy approaching", bringing a lot of confusion to the team <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
That's the way i learned about sensory and how NOT to use it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
As to whether your newbiehood is finished yet, if you understand the tech tree, resources, why armoury humping is bad, what all the hardware does etc - you are no longer a green marine.
Of course, aliens are a TOTALLY different story. Totaly. Utterly. Even if you have extensive experience with melee combat from other games, there's QUITE a steep learning curve for aliens. Well done for passing marines 101, now for the hard stuff <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Of course, it all depends on if your team want to listen to your orders....i can get third hive up in about 20 minutes...You need to head for the res towers first, and slow the marines down with the offense towers. i usually place a defense tower or two near the offense towers so that they heal them if shot at <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
I cannot stand going commander, its far to stressfull as it is. there is too much pressure. You have to earn the team's respect before they listen to you, and that means not making any mistakes....
does that mean im still a n00b?
