Another "fun" Map Ns_pillbox

<div class="IPBDescription">*fears head getting cut off*</div> This originally started as a test map.

I put it on my old clans server and played it with them a few times, just for kicks. Anyways some people joined the server and started playing it, People started requesting the map be played. So I worked on it some and tried to balance the gameplay, originally it was wide open area with a pit in the middle. Then I made the bridge have to be welded to extend it, preventing marine rushes. It takes ~1 min to weld each half of the bridge. Also the middle res were added in later to give the map a location to hold.

So here are the ss and d/l have fun.

Nothing will be changed from this point on as I accidently deleted the .rmf and I would rather work on my real map then recreate this one.

Middle Area (Bridge Unwelded)

Added the map, Will try it later. Fun maps are good every once and a while to break the seriousness of regular maps. Just one thing. When I made the .res file for the map, I noticed it has a custom wav file.

Making .res file for ns_pillbox_final.bsp [24/24]:
    ns.wad
    halflife.wad
    models/hive.mdl
    models/b_resource_nozzle.mdl
    sound/ambience/moveit.wav
    ----------------------------------------
    ns_pillbox_final.res has been made!
    <!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    What is the moveit.wav?

For some reason Quake (1) comes to mind...

Please, I beg of you, don't turn NS custom maps into CS style "fun" maps. Like speedball...

the sound file isnt actually used, I was going to remove it before the final version but the rmf was deleted before I could.

NS "fun" maps are far from the deathmatch cs killboxs.
NS "fun" maps still take a strategy and teamwork to overcome good teams.

I don't mind these sort of maps, but they can get boring after a few games.

Dont really remember but I think some of the weld times were changed and I think I upped the Dmg on the "munchable" box to even it out with the marine weldable box. There were a few bug fixes also, I think the bridge would close sometimes in prefinal2.

Oh, okay, but when you build fun maps, make sure it looks normal and plays fun, not looks fun plays bad, you know what I mean?

Nice map, i like how fast it is and the aliens have a good chance to win. For the first time i saw people cramming into the aliens door instead of the marines. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

These kind of maps make mods last much longer... when people play these custom maps they want to build there own... and say " I have a great idea like this map"... and the MOD goes on... thats my own little word of wisdom at least. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
