Bunny Hopping Marines

A New Technique to Counter them
I've found that when facing bunny hoppers as a skulk, it's best to look upwards while biting rather than attempt to jump with them.

Most skulks just face forward with their field of view parallel to the horizontal. Its quite effective to either look up or down while attacking the marine to adjust to their hitbox level.

Marines in vents, can be quickly killed by aiming at below their feet area. Jumping marines will be quickly munched by facing upwards.

Hope its useful.

As a CS player, I learned to use the leaping-stab-to-the-head technique, and I've adapted it to playing skulk. If locational damage is ever added, I'll be biting off a lot of heads.

I find that the easiest way is to confuse the living hell out of them by climbing the nearest wall, running along the ceiling, jumping down the adjacent wall, and such, until they have no idea what direction they're facing, at which point you bite their **** off.

What I've started doing is when I make a run at a marine, I intentionally bite with the intent to bite and continue on PAST him keeping my momentum going. Since many marines will use the bunny hop to hop BACKWARDS away from the direction you aproached, this actually leads him in the same direction. I then run until I am past him and then do a 180 and bite him in the back. This works even better with celerity. Run, bite and blow by them at 100 miles an hour and then flip around and ambush them while they are trying to figure out where you went.

I also NEVER just 'keep biting' continually unless I am IN CONTACT with a marine. The sound of biting only gives their ears something to focus on. I only bite when I expect I'll score a hit.

    Regards,

    Savant

When chomping on a crouching marine as a skulk, be it in a vent or otherwise, to hit them properly you need to hold down crouch yourself.

Just point straight at them as per normal and crouch. You will kill them in the normal 2 bites no problem. The reason and explanation for this was discovered by Wolfwings, link is here to his original post: Click

I dunno... bhoppers tend to hop right down my throat, so to speak. They jump and land in a bite. I've only met ONE person who could consistently stay out of my bites, keep hopping, and still hit me with every bullet.

Or you could just hide on a wall and jump on thier heads. Like you should do to every other marine in existance.
