Ok. I am running a Geforce 4 MX 420. I got it with my Dell Demension, which I have had for a year. Mr.Geforce has been so good to me, untill now. I was all happy one night, playing ns, game ended, I logged off and shut down. I get back on in the morning, and my internet isnt working. Ok, the problem was with my OS and my wireless router. Fixed it by installing a fresh new copy of windows (like creating a fresh user file) Oh happy day! It is fixed! I try and log on to NS, but oops! It says it cannot support the mode of opengl! Ok...fine, update drivers. 41.09 detonator drivers. Wow, installed, works. Wierd thing is...I get 60fps, and sometimes this 60fps shoots down to 20-30 when people, or structures come on the screen. Ouch. Ok, its fine, delete the existing drivers, then restart. Comp detected and installed the drivers when it rebooted, ok good. Now it is like it was when I got the thing. Same problem. Hmm. Log onto MIRC, ask for help. Ok, Set moniter to 100hz. Then set geforce to antilising off. Hmm? Where is v_sync option? Ok, contact friend, he tells me to update drivers. I do it, but windows says I have to deinstall my existing ones to install the 41.09 drivers. Ok, did that, then tried to install the new ones. WARNING!! Windows has detected that these drivers are not endorsed/stampped with windows certification. Friend says override that, install them anyways. Ok, done, reboot. Wierd, still have a problem. Switch moniter back to 100hz, switch Geforce 4 performance on to agressive. SAME problem!!!Antialising off, Anisotrophic filtering off. But NO v_sync option!! My friend says that can cut my framerate in half sometimes. But the option is not there. HEP MEE!!!!!! Im going insain!! If I have to call another tech support person I will rip something apart!

Hmm. My definately sounds like V-Sync to me. But I've never found it difficult to turn it off.

    Here's a link (I hope it works) to the Nvidia Driver Manual - <a href='http://download.nvidia.com/windows/40.72/Detonator_40_Users_Guide.pdf' target='_blank'>http://download.nvidia.com/windows/40.72/D...Users_Guide.pdf</a>

You should be able to make the selection right on the OpenGL page. Does any of this look familiar/different?

EDIT: The link only brings you to the first page of the manual ( <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> ). The page you want to check is 132.

Download <a href='http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/' target='_blank'>this</a> program, it lets you tweak your vidcard, I use it myself for my geforce2.

    [EDIT]
this has all openGL and D3D tweak options you need, it even comes with presets.
