    I think what they mean is that there wont be excessive gore. Marines aren't going to "faint" when they die and aliens wont curl up and go to sleep after enough rounds. They just (edit : DONT) want to slaughtered colonists in levels and huge rooms coated in blood or copious amounts (cough Science and Industry Briefcase).

    DAMN!  That would just ooze atmosphere if they kept bodies of colonists or bloodsplats on the walls from the alien infection.  Just like in the movies when its not brightly lit.

    Allright!  Finally, a clear Lev. 3. screenshot. Too bad he's getting spacked. Oh well.  It looks tiny.  How big is a lev. 3 compared to a Marine? Head sized?  It looks the shotgun is going back to its birdhunting origins.

    He's small - about the size of a crouched marine. The first three alien levels are small, then the Lev4 is normal sized, and the Lev5 is Huge-mungus.
