Custome Compile Tools?

PhyPhy Join Date: 2003-03-01 Member: 14163Members
I've heard woord of custom compile tools for use in NS from various places, specifically a BSP stage that removes all faces with the NULL texture on it (/me drools...). I was wondering if there still is someplace to get it, if there is I havent found it. And if it is available/recommended to use will it or won't it interfere with Zoner's VIS and RAD?

Its part of the ZHLT compile tools (BSP,CSG...) to remove faces with NULL texture.
This has nothing to do with the .fgd.
Luckily, because its part of it, there are no inteferences, too <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

or did I just dont get the question?

There are various custom compile tools available besides the default HL ones. They all work just as well for HL as for NS:

Zoner's standard - you probably have these by now
Merl's custom build - modified version of Zoner's, with null-tex face removal
XP-Cagey's "custom custom" build - modified version of Merl's, with plane-stripping and proper clipping

Note that Cagey's tools are currently being tweaked, since at the moment they can, in rare circumstances, create a leak in a clipping hull. There is a thread in this forum that details the ongoing development of these new tools:
