Some Faces Of Some Func_wall Disappear.

<div class="IPBDescription">:(</div> Some of my func_walls and other visible brush entities have the problem that some of their faces are completely invisible while some other faces of the same brush are normal.
Rarely some faces just disapear depending on the place im in, but some stay invisible.
Turning them into solids makes them normal solids with no errors.
Changing my vis settings (and disabnling vis) randomizes this effect.
Whats could be the reason for this and how to fix?

Too may entities in one area?

Are you running HL in software mode? If you are, and you can switch, you should definitely be running in OpenGL.

If that's not the problem, try making the various cull distance settings higher (in the map_info entity I think, or the basic Map Settings diaglogue).

This sometimes happens if you're over the old planes limit -- try running opt_plns.

Ah jeah i`m over the old plane limit and didnt even notice...
    That should be the reason.
Too bad opt_plns crashes when I run it on the maps. (oficial maps work for a test).
<b>gimme some map related reasons for opt_plns to crash please.</b>
    Ill try harder...

Older versions of opt_plns crash when the map goes over any of the following limits:

    4MB texture
    4MB lighting
    2MB visibility

Version 1.4 fixes the crash by dynamically allocating however much memory is necessary to properly load the map.

    duh.
    Still used 1.0
    no problem with 1.4

Ill place a XP-Cagey shrine in my map.
    Any suggerstions for that?

    ...
âaw the shrine has to wait.
opt_plns 1.4 works nice but i Stil lhave the problem from the 1st post.

Hmmm... your other numbers look good and I don't know of any other causes for the behavior you describe... you checked the map after the planes were reduced, right?

Anybody know a different cause for missing ent faces?

Im getting close to find the solution.
    The bug is fixed sometimes.
Guess its just my own stupidity in one special case.
