tip tap tip tap
I wanted to compare the size of my map with Eclipse (its always a nice reference) and wanted to check its ballance just by counting the marine Steps to walk from one location to another.
Definition:
1 Step = Needed time for the "left step + right step (!) sound" (2 physical steps) of an just spawned (unchanged !) marine while just walking/strafe-walking ... including Ladder steps (no falling damage should happen) and dont stop counting "time" while falling small places and such....
15 steps ~ 10 seconds. Steps are just easier to count ingame than seconds.
In Eclipse you need 40 Steps (+5 / -5) from one main location (3 hives + cc) to another.
In my map you need 80 Steps (+10 / -10 ) from one locatin to another.
During events (weld) or time some doors open shortcuts and the paths get shortened by -30 Steps.
Is this ok or way too big?

Think it should be like:
"Marines know 50% whats aliens hive, ~3 marines go to an empty hive and guard it.
Alien arives at empty hive, sees the marines and gives alert.
Now Alien reinforcement should come ~ at the same time when marine reinforcement comes (trough phasegate)..." no matter whats the first hive.
Argh I just made a classical mistake.
The 2 hives, that are most far from each other have absolutely no shortcut between them
-> To go from HiveA to HiveC you have 2 choices:
1) Go trough HiveB (2*2 possible paths ~160 steps)
2) go trough the CC (~120 steps)
Compared with Eclipses 60 Steps this definitely needs a change...
