Pop-ups

<div class="IPBDescription">free good blocker</div> Ok i have had this problem for a while now and i have gotten like 20 different pop up blockers and so far none ofthem work. So does anyone know of a good pop up blocker?

    Personally no, but a mate of mine was web surfing yesterday and got hit with a pop-up advertising...anti-pop up software. I can't figure out if this was a moment of pure genius or insanity on the part of the company that makes that software <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I prefer the hosts file trick and the Opera browser. The 1st stops many advertisements (even a hefty number of banner ads) from even being downloaded, and the 2nd kills popups that do get loaded before they can appear.

    <a href='http://www.opera.com' target='_blank'>www.opera.com</a> for the Opera browser (there are other browsers with the same popup-killing function, but Opera's simply the one I've had the best experiences with overall)

    but ie has many more features.. i use popup killer myself, gets the job done.

    I use both PopNot and PopUpStopper at the same time. Both of them together kill pretty much every pop-up there is.

    ...is it the one that pops up even after you shutdown Internet Explorer, either XP or NT OS?
