Server Screwed My Ns For Good

Hey NSers,
Earlier today I went into a server, I cant remember the name, it started with an "I", maybe it was Imperial something...anyway, the server was insanely bugged, possibly on purpose. Anything to be built was up in seconds, evolving took seconds, and when all the aliens or marines died the game was not over. Now, a few hours later, NS wont work, nor will any other HL mod. When I click "internet games" it freezes. I know this has something to do with the server I was in. I tried reinstalling HL, which didnt work. Then I uninstalled it again and deleted the entire HL folder, then reinstalled, and its still frozen. Hopefully some of you guys might know some sort of solution, because I am dying without my NS. Thanks in advance for any help.

I had the same reaction to a server update I applied earlier today.

WON is down. The servers that co-ordinate and catalogue all the different half-life games out there are (unfortunately) an important part of making multi-player half-life work.

1) Sounds like the server had sv_cheats 1. No biggy.
2) won went down today. So you did all that reinstalling for nothing hahahahahahahah

No won no online hl. Simple as that.

The server had cheats enabled (sv_cheats 1).

As far as bugging out your client...no idea. I doubt it was the server. *However*, be aware that the Valve WON servers are having problems right now, causing a lot of problems for both servers and players.

I would be willing to be that the server had sv_cheats set to 1, which will allow you to do certain cheat commands. But I am guessing that the problems with WON are to blame for your problems

Oh man, I had the same problem. I reinstalled half life and all mods. Of this did not work. So i reformatted my harddrive...three times. I am now retyping my graduate thesis, which I forgot to back up.
