<div class="IPBDescription">Ugh...</div> Ok, well, problem. I went to compile the new verison, only to find out that low and behold, I exceeded the max texture faces.
No worries.
Originally, I was operating without a net (or in this case, without a plan) I was putting stuff together at random, hoping it would sort itself out. Well, in doing so, the corridors between the rooms looked like boxes with stuff put here and there to make it look real. In addition, I DID use a large selection of textures, which I probably shouldnt have, but unfortunately, its beyond repair now.
I won't even talk about the vents.
So, I'm going to take some time today to draw up a real plan with some graph paper and post it here for comments. I'll be keeping the main rooms, but the corridors will be scrapped and started again. I will also re-organixe my wad, drop some textures that I don't need, etc.
Minor setback, but in the end, it should make the map look mucho better. Luckily, it won't take me long to get back to where I am now since, as I said, I have 70% of the rooms, just a case of connecting them.

every mapper has some kind of nightmarish problem...

But, thats not too bad as I can leave that till last. Oh yes, and the rooms are going to be modified just a bit (I was taking shortcuts here and there that were increasing r_speeds) So, I'm going to restart the comp and then jump in right away <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->.
