Kinda unrelated, but it's kinda funny to see servers with "no Noobs allowed" and "skilled playerz only!". I mean, have you seen any servers where it says "noob players only"? It's ridiculous to shoot down a "n00b" in any public server unless they're being total morons (i.e. not read the manual, etc) How else are they going to learn? Remember it was only a few months ago that ALL of us were "noobs" at this game...

i love that plugin. its not really a gamebreaker, but it gives a nice little boost to the aliens and is fun!

I believe it allows Lerks to picks up gorges and fly them around, i think its just gorges but i may be wrong

That's lame. You can do that anyway - I've done that on nothing, when the marine relocated their entire base into the vents. And I didn't use lerklift, 'cause you shouldn't need it. If you want to use goofy tactics like that, you should at least do it the real way.

Wow! That's sweet! But what if a bunch of skulks riding on a lerk get shot down when the lerk gets killed? Sounds like a good movie plot: The skulks get trapped in Marine territory, attacked from every side by the Marines after their lerk gets killed. The skulks have to fight back against impossible odds to try to escape to find the extraction point, where another lerk can safely pull them out! It would be a blockbuster movie! A big smash hit! I would call this movie . . .

I agree, the plugin doesn't really help me at all, since as a lerk or skulk I can fly a gorge around anyway if he pays enough attention to move the right way.

first of all there *IS* a server called Newbie Proving Grounds.

I'm sure there is a 2nd or more, I received that impression.

2nd although the server is a german server and thus the original poster might have made a mistake, it seems that they are only kicking 1st timers and idiots.

The best thing about the lerk lift plug-in is the ability to perform a "gorge sacrifice". If that 2nd gorge doesn't get off before i hit 33 rez he's gettin' dropped into a marine turret farm. Either that... or you fly really high in the Great Viaduct and drop him till he craters.

It actually allows for some new things to happen. It makes available the Red Room on ns_nothing and the catwalk w/o the gorge having to first be a skulk (or without all the effort involved in skulk-boosting). Those black areas in Power Silo are reachable in a moment. The ultimate use for the lift though is in ns_caged at the freight elevator node. The vent into said node is above open ground (cannot skulk lift to it) and by flying the gorge in there he is able to cap the node without wasting the extra to evolve / devolve.
This capability is also a great way to hide your gorges from marines. Tons of rafters and high ledges that TSA cannot reach in the early game. I just like this add-on for the new dynamic it brings to it.
TIPS:
1.) Gorge Spit - Do not spit while flying with the lerk... it stops you in space.
2.) Conserver your Energy - Your bar doesn't recharge while in flight (gorge only)

4.) Death - Shared hitboxes... so far if one goes the other is soon to follow

Lerks can use the "use" key to pick up gorges (But only gorges, not skulks) and only one at a time. The can fly around as usual, and the gorge pops out if either the lerk or the gorge presses the use key or if the gorge tries to build or use an ability.
