no, really
Played a game on EC last night (well, last night subjectively - the other peeps on the server were playing mid afternoon). I saw the marines win 50% of the time! I really did! Most pubbies I've been on, you join the marine side only if you want a whupping.
I saw Duffman (fromt he forums) and experienced good solid teamwork. It was so that I really couldn't predict which way each round would go. I guess that answered any questions on balance I had......

Oh, and I only had one comment about being "British"

So, gg all. esp. to the C*B people for comming both sides so well.

NS as it should be played.

w00t props to C*B OMG pwn. Even though I kept saying more turrents commando I couldn't break my clanmates into dropping any, and subsequently a good tiem was had by all I guess, exept Sither and Thief who couldn't kill me to save their lives.

the *2* times i've been able to get into EC i've had a great time. problem is its full 24/7.

Another good server (that you have a moderate chance of getting into) is CoFR.

going marines on a pub with noobs, bad idea. going marines on a pub with good players who listen......

Yes, Nano Gridlock is my favorite server, i also frequent CoFR when for some reason i cant get on NG and i dont see anyone with RCON around to open me a slot in there. We are fair admins and we like to have fun, most of the playerbase in Nano Gridlock is very experienced and you are almost guaranteed to run into skill wherever you go, just dont come in if youre a complete idiot and try to cause trouble, because we have a LOT of admins around and we all ban troublemakers...

You MAY also get groupie access to the server for map playtests and special events if the EC leaders and the server admin want you to, of course, it all depends...

Groupie Access depends on whether or not we feel you'd be condusive to the atmosphere we would like to have on Nano-Gridlock. The other requirements are for us to know you relativly well and for you to swing by our chat room and forums.

Other than that, yeah, I enjoy playing on Nano, mainly because it's a 'Strict' server... break the rules or act like a llama and you're outta there.

I just played on Eya's Egobooster, it's always been ok but the server op has added a new mod. If anyone pings over 150 they get a warning and if they continue to ping over 150 after 2 warnings and about 30 seconds they get kicked. Initially I though 'oh god what an appalingly facist idea, discriminating against people with high pings'. I find any ping under 300 to be perfectly acceptable, but tbh it worked really well. If this server offers a good ping to you you can quiet often get on. No-body whines about lag-kills and everybody is on the same playing field. Lerks and jetpackers move fluidly through the sky rather than the staggered teleport you get watching a 400ping lerk. Almost everyone on the server had a 75-90 ping.

It's 26 players, the wins seemed to go 50/50 and it was a friendly atmosphere that was equally welcome to veterans and newbies.

If you can't sustain a <150 ping then the server sucks, if you can it's great!

    Gotta love props to [C*B]

Along with all the other [C*B], I frequent nano the most. I also seem to find myself at Hastezone.com v1.04 @ 204.248.53.42:27015. It pings rather well, and the players there have a decent amount of experience. Most of the previously mentioned servers are alright too. {MA}'s server isn't bad either, it's at 66.237.58.110:27015.

i play cofr, ec, and std regularly.
These servers stand out among the fifty or so I used to play on because of the outstanding teamwork and commanding skills of the players. Marine win percentage over 50%? sometimes it's even higher.

kahlaat is the alien team nubbles! gg!

hmm i played a couple games on cofr, those were the standard "hold cargo and then get hmg/gl/jp and pwn all" games, but it was way better than what ive been subjected to on pubs (the always failsafe turret rush MS, then lockdown 1 hive and turtle)

I usualy play on donce, and red when certain admins arent there.

CoFR's admins, at least some of em are pretty rude, and I got permanently banned for publicly chatting about NS bugs...

Yea NG is a great server. At this point the only servers I play on are Donce and IFB

BTW ifb server sekdar mentioned is actualy called Now We Donce (Donce for short) and has it's own channel on gamesnet (#donce).

As an added incentive MonsE plays there fairly often.

yeah nano-gridlock is one of the best servers you can actually get a decent game everytime you play. I used to like it alot more before they banned bhop though ((

No really, our clan is all filled wit nice people and we don't tolerate exploits of any kind. Llamas aren't welcome either. Come check out Dominant Species Server 1.04. I'll edit in the IP address once I actually get back to my own computer.

It was a good game, not only because of the teamplay element (and the lack of mary poppins - style cocker-ney accents) but also because I saw a few community "regulars" and despite being on the other side of the
atlantic was pinging at about 180-200, not far off what I'd expect if I were in the same continent as the server and on 56k.
In short, I ENJOYED the GAME.

This is what I like about EFTel's servers so much. They're in the same city as me, they're frequented by DoW and xE (both very good clans), not to mention my own clan rF, and they're generally non-n00bie games. The difference when I play on bog standard servers is incredible.

weird.. im perm IP banned from cofr now... why?

i guess the ns community is just too good for me... thats the general impression i get from a lot of the community members.

hmm...thats the kinda attitude that will get you banned from servers. that sarcastic/im good, too bad you dont think so attitude.

i used to play on cofr all the time, til my clan got a server, and they were all great. im sure if they IP banned you, they had a reason.

and whats with the impression you get from community members? i know people post these long, drawn out posts about their amazing strats that nobody ever thought of before or their posts about how to play that take longer to read than the bible. but come on. most of the NS community is great. its a hell of a lot better than the CS community.

come play at our server. id like to see how you play and what you do. maybe then i can see why they banned you

Isn't it an awfully bad idea to do IP bans when almost every home internet user (=gamer) is on a dynamic IP? The next day, he could be back, while another guy with the same ISP would be banned. WonID banning might make more sense.
