Bio-dome

Jungle combat
A lot of people have thrown around requests for outdoor maps, and whilst I don't agree with them I had an idea just now that could be implemented. I'm not a mapper so I'll just throw this idea out into the open, and if someone uses it horray!
A reserch facility with a bio-dome attached, like a big semi-transperant dome (maybe cover the inside in vegitation or something) which is used for researching plant life. This would be a hive location and would have trees, shrubs and maybe a canopy. It just struck how fun it would be to fight in such a location, so verdant and lush, which is missing from many NS maps despite the organic nature of alien hive points. On the ground the skulks would have excellent cover, whilst above the canopy jetpackers would soar afraid to go lower.
This is just a crazy idea I thought up, if anyone thinks it's viable then please respond. Cheers!

yeah this idea has been presented before, the prob is that theres no tree textures andf trying to make thenm align would be absolute HELL. Im not sure how to make either the texture or the model, if someone could use a model editor to create bushes and plants, then id like to hear about it coz it would go great with my map

Wood and tree textures are not hard to find.
Ballancing large open areas is dificult.

Maybe I'm just not very clever, but I'd find making a huge hollow dome difficult as well.

Cadaver submitted a map with something linke this for 1.1 review. You may very well see it as an official map.

Really? that would be damn sweet, any screenies of it anywhere?

Also I understand the comments about balancing the open areas, that's why I was advocating something more enclosed, in that the trees and the like would stretch up to almost ceiling height. On the ground there would be plenty of opportunities for ambushes and the like. I'd still want to leave room for jpers at the top above the canopy, but with 1.1 addressing the "endless jping" occuring now this shouldn't be too much of a problem.
