Well, I hope you're wrong. Blink is a devastating ability when used properly. On bast it's incredible to be able to blink up to the elevator then to the com chair in less than 2 seconds. And getting out is just as easy. Blink just needs some tweaking to make it feel a little cleaner.
i agree with both people, blink is devastating, when it works. Emphasis on when. Also there is another thread about an idea to give the fade teleportation to any spot on the map. Time is determined by the number of walls he goes through. Part of him is there and the old location while hes doing this so he can be shot at both locations if he does it in a stupid place. I agree that would be more helpful than blink.
Well, as long as they do something with it. As it is, I daren't use it for fear of getting trapped. Oh, sure, Mr.Replying is great with it, and he has the anecdotes to prove it. Well, good for you. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't be more intuitive. As it is, it's too much of a risk. I'd prefer a Phase ability.
Blink is TEH 0WNZ0R. As long as you don't get stuck in things. But yeah, without it I'd never go fade - too many people as it is play the fade like it's just a tank. It's supposed to be a hit-and-run class.
blink won't be taken out because that was one of the very first ideas they had for the fade. afaik. so it's old school and it won't be gone. it rules anyhow, bugfixes also means blink reliability hmmm?
I just hope they found a way to balance the old blink
Blinking through wall would be cool but as you would image it will make a big difference in the balance the reason why the blink is changed to the way it is
The blink ability is basically what fades were based on being the first ability thought up for them (doesn’t the name fade give you a clue)

Here's my lowdown of aliens. Each has their certain characteristics that make them unique.
Skulks = Climbing on Walls
Gorge = Building, Duh.
Lerk = Fly, Double duh
Fade = Blink, teleportation, take away blink and the fade isnt so special, he just has claws and can shoot, theres alot of aliens along the lines of that.
Blink should allow you to teleport to anything on hive sight, you just have to put your crosshairs on it and blink. Making parasite more useful and creating a team work scenario. Really fade was meant to be a heavy skulk, not some sort of acid tank that can nock down marine bases in a single bound like it is now, which is why most people want blink and acid rocket switched. although they didn't mention long hallways, such are actually advantageous for acid spammers. Unless 1v1 a constantly welded ha.
and yeah, teleporting to anything hivesight will not work, unless the idea is modified heavily. Aliens would appear to appear (heh) from another dimension, and, when marine response mounts, aliens would appear to disappear, just vanish.
If they could get blink working 100% of the time, I'd have no problem with them lowering the acid rocket damage. Might balance things a bit (would probably have to lower cost again).

Blink works almost 100% of the time for me. Admittedly I sometimes accidently blink somewhere with a large drop, but that is my fault. I have no idea what people are talking about when they say it doesnt work. Maybe if you are aiming at your feet, that might be the problem.
It's not that hard to avoid getting stuck. Just don't blink at elevators, grating, other brush entities, into small spaces, or at models and you should be fine. If you're good, you can blink just about anywhere you can see with a little timing and precise aiming.
No, I don't see blink being taken away anytime soon. Like Sirus said, Blink is the Fade's flagship ability, take it away and he becomes really boring. Switching acid rocket and blink is a really good idea, especially if all alien classes will be available from the start. I've never actually had to rely on my claws as a primary weapon, and I could really see liking that.
I would love to see blink replaced with something different...its fun yeah, but it never works when you need it to....thats my experience with it anyway. More often then not I always blink into the geometry, so I would like to see the fades get something a little bit better...
acid rocket is my favourite thing in the whole game. it cannot be removed. i wouldn't mind if it was changed a little though such as be affected by gravity and your own velocity and maybe do less splash damage in exchange for more direct damage or add recoil like the game American Army. i wouldn't mind that just as long as they don't do something stupid like add randomness to it to make the game "noob friendly" like counter-strike.
If blinkwas actuelly an ability that was intutive and worked every time, I'd use it more often, but then it would make fades even STRONGER than they allready are.
Personal l33tness and incredable skillz aside, there Is a reason most games do end once the fades start to show up. I dont know exactly when it happend, but fades have as of late gotten ridiculsy harder to kill. If blink becomes far easier and more reliable, imo the fade armor or health should be weakend. A strong, melee/range alien that can choose whether to ingage at range or not whenver it likes is a bit much, but that's just an opnion.
