<div class="IPBDescription">Logitech Dual MouseMan Optical</div>I cannot get my Logitech Dual MouseMan Optical to work correctly with Natural Selection. The mouse wheel only works in a single direction when playing as Aliens, and works in both directions when playing as Marines. However, as Marines, the weapons change instantly rather than allowing the player the cycle through and click again to actually select the weapon to be used.

The mouse worked fine with my old computer, so it must be in conjunction with my new system that there exists some technical deficiency. For reference, my system in a AMD Athlon XP 2200+ running on an Epox 8RDA+ motherboard with an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. I have the latest BIOS revision installed and the latest version of the ATI Catalyst drivers. I am also running in Windows XP Professional Service Pack 01 with the latest version of DirectX installed.

I had a simmilar problem with my mouse wheel, only with mine, the mouse wheel didn't work at all. If yours uses a USB port (plugs into a little rectangular shaped slot), then I would suggest getting a USB to PS/2 (round slot) adapter.

Once you get one, plug the optical mouse into the adapter, then plug the adaptor into the round slot where a normal mouse would typically go. This worked for me, though I am not sure if this will help you as I'm not quite sure why it worked for me in the first place. It's probably worth a try, though. If it doesn't work, well... You never know when a USB to PS/2 adapter might come in handy, as I found out first hand.

Also, if you do this and your mouse has a light on it, the light will remain on after turning the computer off as a side effect.

I think I know what your problem is, go in your config file and look for "MWHEELUP" or "MWHEELDOWN". when you find it change it to +invnext or +invprev .

So it would look like this:

    bind "MWHEELDOWN" "invnext"
    bind "MWHEELUP" "invprev"
