Error:must Have Ns On Computer To Play Ns

I just installed Natural Selection v1 and when I go to play it says I cannot play NS because it is not installed on my computer. I am in the NS menu, not the half life, i tried updating the version to 1.04 with no success. I tried reinstalling twice with no success either. Any help would be appreciated.

you dont need 1.04 unless you are running a server...only 1.03...

dont use the icon it doesnt work as it is so use a different one...

You are probably getting hit with the bug in the shortcut for NS.

just delete that shortcut and make a new one and it should fix the problem.
Or enter HL by using a cstrike shortcut(works for me since I play both games)
It doesnt matter which because HL switches to the correct mod whenever you join a server
