Muzzle Flash Sprites?

I'm not sure if the sprites from other mods will work with this, they prolly will and I'm just making a horse's *** of myself by posting this,... But, as you all know, the Gdamn muzzle flash tends to get in the way of finding that little punk <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> who's running around your ankles like a kitty on catnip. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

My question is, do sprites from other mods (such as the ever present and ever crappy Counter-Strike) work with NS? If not, can anyone direct me to some... less obtrusive sprites?

Yes, you can use sprites from other mods - I know someone on here is using one from DoD (No time to dig around and find out who it was, sorry)
I'll probably go through all of my mods tonight and throw a collection together, because I'm planning on finding a new one also.

I find that the lightsmoke.spr in your ns/sprites directory works quite nice. I replaced all my muzzleflashes with that sprite and it looks like smoke is coming out of the barrel whenever it is fired. Looks quite cool and high tech flash supressor.

thats really ugly man. Its not really uniform, it looks more... *flashy* on one side.

I use one of the muzzle flashes from CS.

I have multiple Muzzle flashs.

One is a five prong muzzle from Firearms, toned down a little.

just rename to muzzleflash1.spr

This one is the five prong cut down to 3. Looks quite cool imho.

someones already made a ns muzzel flash that is smal, i have seen it on a few sites but i lost all my bookmarks so i cant find it for u

try looking for editor321 site (just do a search in google for editor321 then go to his ns section)

what if this forum, was crossrefenced to another one, like, say you've got a webby topic about sprites... and that one is ONLY about sprite discussion, and at the top of that topic, there is a link to the directory of sprites that were made?

you could do it with aliens, starcraft, and a whole host of other things....but i'm too tired to do it myself, and have nowhere near the space....
